Next Animation (maybe a Christmas one??)

2021-12-06 06:24:46 +0000 UTCI have to go with either Rise Of The Guardians or Peter Pan, you can overlook either of those films, same with Alice In Wonderland but I prefer Peter Pan instead, grew up with that one more. I'm sorry I've never heard of Klaus so couldn't give it to that one.

2021-12-06 04:32:04 +0000 UTCYes Rise Of The Guardians is so good and very underrated, has such a big cast, you have Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law, Chris Pine, Isla Fisher. What's great is it's not just a Christmas film, you could say it's an Easter film too sprinkled in. Another Christmas movie that is criminally underrated is Arthur Christmas, it is so good and I wish it got more attention! It's funny, imaginative and has so much heart.

It's gorgeous (as is the artwork of the children's book series its based on). You should absolutely check out the 24-minute 1987 Claymation Christmas Special. (Can be found in full 1987 standard definition fuzziness on Dailymotion and Internet Archive). The special animates a selection of Christmas songs, each one very unique and entertaining. The music is great, the animation is charmingly old-school from legend Will Vinton. It aired in 1987 along with Garfield's Christmas special. These two together are mandatory annual viewing in our household and I highly recommend both to anybody/everybody. They are fun and full of heart. Edited to add that the claymation special won the 1988 daytime Emmy award for best animated program. It may not compare to the stuff created today on 3D printers with vfx support, but...it's a great bit of claymation art, in more of a Wallace and Grommit feel.
