Felt like sun breathing was the better choice here but if you had known about the arm then IC was better. Also best to avoid another personality shift by him gaining a new flame. Plus it'd take away the X gloves as a weapon choice if he swords better. Edit: NVM seems like SB works on all techniques.

Hell he might be able to use Harmony to low the absorption of the bloodlines without needing to implement them. Like make an item that gradually harmonises your biology with those 2 bloodlines. But it will take him some time as he needs to study biology. Also they would act as great material. Imagine what he can make using the eyes or the cells. Sun Breathing would have been soooo good, but Item Construction is the clear winner.
