After careful consideration here are some animated Recommendations: Akira (1988) I think everyone should see this at least once. A certified classic and a masterwork for anyone interested in animation, especially for the time. Batman: The Mask of The Phantasm (1993) not only an excellent Batman movie but an excellent movie. I would even argue that this is one of my favorite superhero movies. The animation is just so slick and stylish. Grave of The Fireflies (1988) This is a film produced by studio Ghibli but it's not a Miyazaki movie. Rather it is directed by its co-founder Isao Takahata. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) Its live action and animation but trust me it counts. This is the type of movie where the animation is good to the point where its like showing off. The Road To El Dorado (2000) I don’t care what anyone says. I’ve loved this movie since I was five years old and it’s still just as hilarious to me now as it was then. Summer Wars (2009) Mamoru Hosoda is an excellent director and I really hope more people react to his stuff. This movie is so wonderful and I wish I could see it for the first time again. Redline (2009)- A racing movie. The only rule of Redline is there are no rules. This movie is pure fast paced visual candy from start to finish. You can tell that it was just a total passion project, and pretty much just an excuse to animate fast cars going fast, and I love that. Wolf Children (2012) Another Hosoda movie. Again, absolutely wonderful. I can't get into it here. You just have to see it.

This and The Road to El Dorado were movies that I fell in love with at an early age. It works really well as an adventure movie and like Treasure Planet I feel like it was super underappreciated. I agree that the 3D and 3-D in this mesh really well. It’s like they tried to make it look as 2D as possible. When I was a kid I was 100% convinced that Atlantis was totally real and it was full of people with white hair and magical crystals. It didn’t help that the history channel ran a documentary about it as if it was a real place.
