JACG Chapter 80 (Mochi is not for eating)

Rias looked up with another pout on her face as she addressed what I just said. The exaggerated disappointment faded as if it were an illusion.

“ I try to open up about my problems and all you want to talk about is blowing up the planet.” She said lightly with the same pout on her face. The light tone and the smile in her eyes told me that she was not that concerned about my words. Which was good as they were not meant to be serious even if I did want to blow up shit.

“That’s just how boys are Rias-san we are rather simple minded and explosions are cool,” I spoke out with a light smile on my face. If someone denied that blowing shit up was not exhilarating they would be lying. There was another thing that men loved thinking about but I was sure that Rias would not enjoy me thinking about her in that context.

My smile tightened a little bit at that thought. I was deliberately trying not to think of her as the sexually tempting creature she was. It was a rather difficult task. Sure, I was in a relationship so I should not be thinking those things but that was a doomed endeavor.

Rias was stunning, there was just no arguing with that. Even if I found Ashley to be just as charming it did not take away from Rias’ charm. Even if I really did not want to think about her that way. It was just difficult and her having red hair is not exactly helping me here. I may no longer want to pursue Lily but she did define how I saw beauty as I said before.

“ Hey, I take offense at your assumption that I don’t like explosions because of my gender. “ Rias let out with a small huff as she looked over at me with a teasing smile. 

“Many can enjoy explosions Rias-san but the simple minded joy of watching things go boom is different for a man.” I chided her with a teasing smile on my face. She rolled her eyes at me and gave me another pout.

“What ever.” She huffed out again and once more looked over at me. 

“So are you sure your Longinus can blow up the planet?” She asked seriously this time. The teasing glint in her eyes was gone as she said her question. I suppose that is a valid question to ask, she has never heard of Star Burster Star Blaster before.

“Don’t get me wrong. It is a Longinus and a high-tier one as well but blowing up a planet is a bit much. Usually, a Longinus would only give you the potential to kill a god, not the actual ability to get the job done.” She added hastily as she did not want to be misunderstood. 

“I was joking around for the most part. From what I have read from the Gacha Star Buster Star Blaster can only blow up a couple of islands at the moment.” I spoke out lightly to show I took no offense as she was right. I have been using my Sacred Gear as a threat in my mind but it was not planet busting. Sure, I could definitely take out England if I wanted to but it would take a couple of blasts, not a single one.

“That fits in better with what I know about Longnius. I was worried that a new Longnius was different and was fearing what would happen when the real one showed up here.” She spoke out slowly as she shuddered at the last bit. Again the shaking did interesting things to her body but I looked away quickly. 

I looked back at her after calming down but Rias had another glint in her eyes as she looked at me. I could only give her an embarrassed look as she clearly caught me looking. Since she was not flipping out I assume she was used to getting looks like the one I just gave her. 

“If it’s just blowing up a couple of Islands I can get you a place to practice. Which is good if you were capable of blowing up the planet we would have to get my brother involved to get you a practice area.” Rias spoke out glossing over the little situation that just went on between us. I could only thank her for it in my mind as I did not want to bring it up.

“That’s good, I’m happy that I can finally use this thing after so long.” I spoke out slowly. I had received the Sacred Gear well before my mission with Ashley. Well over two years and I have only used it to cut some annoying obstacles. Now I was finally able to cut loose with the Sacred Gear.

“Well I’m glad I could be helpful,” Rias spoke out with another smile gracing her face. She was being a little more genuine there. She was actually happy that she could be of some use. I shot her a confused look, Rias and I had an okay relationship but it was not exactly the best. Sure, it was better now that I was fucking with Riser for her but it was still in the rocky stage. So to have her happy about simply helping me was rather odd in my opinion.

I suppose it had less to do with me and more to do with her. She was just happy to be of use to some one. That was a pretty weird attitude from the heiress to a powerful demonic family. Then again knowing what I knew about her it did make a small amount of sense. She was so used to not being able to help the closest people to her that being helpful to a ‘friend’ brought up her mood.

“The help is appreciated Rias-san.” I spoke out seriously. If she wanted to be useful to others then I would make sure the effort was appreciated. She just looked at me with the same smile on her face but it seemed just a tad wider.

“Well, it’s not that big of a deal. I’m sure someone as powerful as you could figure out how to practice with your Longnius.” She spoke out lightly downplaying her own achievement. Sure, she was not doing me a massive favor but she was still being helpful to me. So I did not enjoy her putting down her own efforts here.

“It does not matter how small the favor is Rias-san. You reached out your hand when I asked for help and that is the thing that really matters to me. So when I say I appreciate the help I really mean that Rias-san.” Again I spoke out seriously as I tried to hammer in every single word. I needed her to understand what I was trying to convey here. The widening of her eyes as she matched my serious gaze was telling me that I got my point across.

For the longest time, I was used to everyone ignoring my plights and letting me drown. So when someone reached out their hands to me to lend a helping hand I truly appreciated the effort. Sure, I was no longer drowning but I still appreciated the thought behind her sincere help.

Once I managed to hammer in my point a small silence settled between us. It was not exactly awkward but it was heavy in a different way. As the seconds passed by I considered taking back some of my words. I may have meant every word that I said but the heavy atmosphere here was bugging me. Which was strange as I usually did not mind silence as it gave me time to contemplate and think.

“Thanks Prince-san,” Rias spoke out softly breaking the heavy mood between us. I let out a relieved breath as everything was going back to a mood I could deal with. Rias was watching me with another glint rising in her eyes but it faded quickly enough that I did not get a read on it.

“So where are my souvenirs?” Rias questioned with a teasing smile on her face. I shot her a confused look as the question came out of nowhere. Was I supposed to bring stuff? Was traveling to your friend's dimension like a house warming event?

Seeing my confused look another pout emerged on her face as she looked over at me seriously.

“When you bullied your way into going on the mission you promised to bring me souvenirs.” She let out slowly trying to jog my memory. Hearing her words I did recall what she was talking about,

Right before I left for the mission Rias said she wanted pictures, souvenirs, and dibs on the next mission. She was not exactly happy being excluded from the mission. It was such a small thing that she never brought up so I assumed that she forgot like I did.

“Technically I never agreed to that,” I spoke out with a small grin on my face as I looked at her. Her request was so last minute that I did not have a chance to accept or deny it. So she had no grounds to stand on here even if I was fine with the request in concept.

Taking pictures and collecting some fancy trinkets for the rest of the Chat Group was not something I would object to. Sadly for her, we were trapped in a virtual world so I had not collected any trinkets or pictures. 

“That’s no fair Prince-san. I gave up on traveling to a potential anime world so you and Ashley could be lovie dovy with each other. The least you could do is give me some souvenirs.” Rias whined out as she gave me an exaggerated sad look. I winced as I really had no problem with fulfilling this request but I had nothing to give.

“Alright I get it but I got nothing to give you,” I spoke out with a sorry look on my face. I wished that I did have something to give to her but I did not.

She looked rather disappointed and this time it was entirely real so I added something else quickly.

“When Ashley and I traveled to that world we were trapped in a game the entire time. Our actual bodies were some place else so we never had the chance to collect anything.” I explained quickly as I did not want to disappoint her for no reason. 

She looked over at me as she absorbed my words. The disappointed look slowly faded as she got the full context of my visit to SAO. I felt a small amount of guilt as there was still a small amount of disappointment on her face even with said context.

It was worse as I genuinely forgot about her request in the first place. So even if we went to a world that was not like SAO I would have still disappointed this girl. That rubbed me the wrong way but there was not much I could do about that now. The past was the past and I did not have the ability to travel back to it. For now, that is.

Well, there is something I could do now. It may not have the same meaning as an actual souvenir but it was something.

[User: Overdramtic Fool has rolled the Gacha and has received Ragout Rabbit B-Tier]

A plumb rabbit appeared before us. Its fur is a glossy white that puts other rabbits to shame. It had red eyes that were darting back and forth quickly as it took in its surroundings.

I recognized this little fucker. In SAO I was maxed level for a rather long time and I specked into speed. Still, even with all of those advantages this fucker still out classed me in speed and that pissed me off.

The only good thing about these chumps was the delicious meat that they dropped. I killed more than one of these guys as retribution for being faster than me but once I tasted the meat I had to keep hunting them down. I could only thank Fortuna for allowing me to eat so many of them.

The plump rabbit tried to escape from the area as soon as he got a read on the room. I was used to their behaviour so I was prepared. They may have been faster than me in the game but in the real world I was a monster so I acted faster than the dumb rabbit. Rias shot me a startled look as I moved quickly and caught the rabbit before it could bounce and make a nuisance of itself.

A small amount of drool escaped my mouth as I held the twitching Rabbit. The taste may have been fake but I remember it all the same. I wanted to slaughter the rabbit and eat it but this was not meant for me. I rolled the Gacha because I felt slightly guilty and taking this prize would rub me the wrong way.

So with reluctance, I presented Rias the Rabbit in my hands. Seeing that it was caught the Rabbit had a despairing look on its face that would put Oscar winners out of a job.

She gave me a confused look as the whole situation happened rather quickly.

“I did not bring you a souvenir so I rolled the Gacha to make it up to you. This is a Ragout Rabbit and it came from the world Ashley and I went to. The meat from this Rabbit is probably the best thing I have ever tasted.” I explained with the drool coming out of my mouth again. I really wished I could be the one eating this guy but that was not in the cards at the moment. 

I suppose I would just have to roll the Gacha later. Now that I knew I could roll him in the Gacha I was sure to get him again.

Rias took the despairing rabbit from my hands and started to pet the rabbit who was still freaking out in her arms. She was trying to calm down the fat rabbit and it looked like she was succeeding for the most part.

“Ragout Rabbits are pretty frail so you should be able to snap his neck rather easily,” I explained to Rias as she continued to pet the Rabbit that was back to freaking out at my words. She shot me a glare as I finished talking.

“You want me to kill this adorable thing!?” She whisper shouted as she did not want to startle the rabbit in her arms. I froze for a second at her indignant questioning. To me, those guys were meals that happened to run pretty fast. To her, that rabbit was a scared creature that was pulled from another world. So I may not have read this situation all too well.

“He really is delicious though.” I let out quietly as he was a meal that I would never forget. So to keep him a pet was such a waste. I did not mean to say anything as I got her position but it just came out. Even if it was quiet she still heard me so she shot me another glare.

“No eating Mochi-chan!” This time she did shout out. The sudden loud noise did not even startle the relaxing Rabbit. It seemed to have gotten a read on the situation and it rested contently in Rias’ arms. I could even swear the Rabbit gave me a smug look as if taunting me with its continued existence. That had to be the hunger talking as there was no way that was possible.

“Alright, I get it. No eating fatso, I was just so used to eating Ragout Rabbits that I did not consider keeping the guy as a pet.” I let out sourly as I really wanted to eat the rabbit who still looked like he was shooting me a smug look. Rias did give me a glare at calling the rabbit fat but it really was so she could not argue with me about that.

[Khajit Has Information If You Have Coin: Holy shit he got another Ragout Rabbit!]

[NTR Victim: You better come back with that Rabbit right now Prince! I don’t care what you are plotting over there I’m going to cook the shit out of that Rabbit!]

[Khajit Has Information If You Have Coin: Waaaaaait! Relax for a moment Ashley-chan. You can wait on cooking the Rabbit till your best friend has enough points to come for dinner right?]

[NTR Victim: Sorry Argo you are shit out of luck, I’m gonna cook that rabbit today!]

I looked over at the sudden barrage of messages but that was to be expected. Three of our members knew how the Rabbit tasted and it was something unforgettable. I looked over at Rias who was clutching the rabbit tighter while giving an empty space a sour look. She apparently noticed the messages as well.

With that last message, Rias looked away from her Chat interface and faced me again. 

“I’m not eating Mochi-chan!” She announced loudly as she held onto the rabbit. I rolled my eyes at her display as I was not the one advocating for her to eat the rabbit. I accepted what was going on here and moved on.
