Purr-murr, kittens! As I promised - the split version of the previous drawing is here!
So, also I promised to tell a little bit about the heroines' leotards. Rhythmic gymnastics is a young sport, designed more for spectacle than for achievements in the form of numbers. It grew out of regular gymnastics and ballet, and so it borrowed from both the former and the latter in costume.
The leotard of rhythmic gymnastics is, in fact, a logical extension of the leotard of ordinary gymnastics and athletic acrobatics. The other question is that it is sewn differently. It is made of biflex (a very elastic material) and flesh-colored transparent mesh, which imitates a naked body. The colored parts on the Cesar leotard are the biflex and the "flesh" parts are the mesh
The pattern of a leotard is complicated, as a rule they are sewn from pieces of fabric in the manner of a patchwork quilt (I don't know how to explain it simply without knowing English well enough). And although biflex stretches to three - four sizes, sewing should be made to the measurements of the athlete, that is leotard - thing individual. The whole secret is to make the suit fit the body like a second skin without suffocating the wearer
Well, the main thing about performance leotards is the rhinestones. There are not just a lot of them, but a lot of them! Once I had to glue 4000 small stones on a tiny leotard, and sew on about 500 large ones. The leotard weighed about a kilogram and looked like a bulletproof vest
Leotards for big girls hold even more stones, and sparkle so much that you can go blind :) And weigh accordingly :)) Besides, it is expensive: usually for good leos go Swarovski crystals, and they are expensive :)))
This Cesar costume was designed and sewn by Marinette, according to her friend's unique measurements - I am a tailor in the past, and I can say that it is not easy to make a leotard for such a girl π
(you can see the pink patch, it's Marinette's mini studio badge)
Marinette made for Cesar a standing collar with a clasp at the back - this is a forced measure, because in an open collar Cesar's breasts would have shown themselves to the world after the second element. And such a collar, in principle, allows to bear the weight of her impressive forms π€©
(You may also notice a loop on Alya's fingers. It's not a ring, but a loop that holds her sleeve so that it doesn't snag when she swings her arms sharply)
Dale once accidentally compared a leotard to a swimsuit π It's not quite the right comparison (although I agree, leotard looks like a swimsuit). You can't swim in it, which is why it's not called a swimsuit. Sporty biflex is not suitable for this, swimsuits have different requirements, their fabric is thicker by an order of magnitude and has a lining. Leotards have no lining, the thinner the better! Because the task is to show the anatomy of the body, not to hide it. Leo is closer to figure skater dresses, only thinner.
Π! And nobody has asked a question about underwear: in general under leotard you can not wear underwear, although it is forbidden by the rules, but some athletes neglect it. It is forbidden because leotards are perfectly translucent, they are underwear themselves.
In my experience I can say this: young gymnasts, without forms, do without underwear. Older gymnasts wear bodysuits or sports underwear, otherwise the performance becomes very racy
I think rhythmic gymnastics is not well known yet just because of this annoying rule XD But everything is ahead of us ;)
Ugh, I'm getting a little carried away, time to wrap this up. The next couple of posts are waiting for us tomorrow. It will be just like this time: one post in the morning and the second one in the evening
One more thing. Usually I try not to ask for likes, here on Patreon they don't matter. But by them I determine how much you are interested in this or that topic. I also rely on comments :) So if this sports topic is interesting to you, click on the heart, so I will understand where to go next
And of course, I'm happy to read you ππ₯°
See you tomorrow!
With love and gratitude for your support, Tiana Lynx
