Treasure Planet UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

Love this reaction! I think you guys would really enjoy Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. It's a DreamWorks animation and it's on Hulu 😊 The storyline, the music, the characters, etc. are all so amazing! I would love to see y'alls take on it! 🥰🙏🏾

Oh and Tarzan was already great with the 2D add in some 3D and Phil Collins and you have a master piece.

YES!!!! You finally reacted to this fabulously animated movie one of Disney’s underrated films. Now someone has already mentioned it, but this movie flopped because Disney released it at the same time as Chamber of the Secrets there is a rumor and not sure if its true, but some say Disney wanted it to flop. I love this movie because its not typical Disney film, it has love but not romantic love-it has bit-but more focused on father/son love and the bond of it. This movie made me want a solar glider soooo bad as a kid. Some future film suggestions- Tarzan? He has some nice 3D and 2D animation, Lilo and Stitch- Stitch is a fellow rough around the edges character like Jim, but much cuter look. Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron has a few scenes where it transitions from 3D to to 2d and would be interesting to see if you catch when they do it. Last suggestion is Dinosaur from Disney it came out in 2000 and the 3D-OMG It is beautiful, one of Disney’s underrrated films of alll time! Can’t wait to see what else you guys react to!

I’m an animator myself so I thought I’d share what I know about some of these movies going forward. Treasure Planet is one of those movies that was a passion project that took a long time to actually get made. Ron Clements who came up with the idea pitched it in 1985 and refused to give up on it. The man just really wanted to make Treasure Island in space and I respect that. The weird thing about this movie is that as you said it totally bombed. It’s true that they spent a lot of money on it but I think one of the problems was in the marketing. Disney barely marketed this movie at all. I remember hearing a theory that because of the expensive nature of this movie Disney tried to sweep it under the rug on purpose so they wouldn’t have to make a sequel (which was already fully scripted and I think storyboarded too. A lot of the animation in this movie, especially the backgrounds involved a really cool technology called deep canvas. It's a pretty time consuming process in which certain scenes are planned out using 3D models and then painted over. Disney only used it for two films; this and Tarzan. I absolutely loved that one growing up.

It was released the same weekend as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets therefore it was almost impossible for it to do well at the cinema - ridiculously underrated though and I'm glad it gets more recognition these days. Great reaction guys!
