Cinderella UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

This movie was mind-blowing for when it was made. I couldn't believe how well done it was. Will definitely have to watch some more Disney Classic animated films. Watch along with your own copy and enjoy!

We watched this one on Disney Plus

Also how they did the backgrounds and things was how they did Snow White. It was a special multiplane system. Everything was hand draw. This was decades before computers.

When people refuse to watch older films I pity them. They really miss out on some remarkable things

Great reaction guys! Just a heads up, the video cuts as Ninetails is talking about the animation at the end.

I loved this reaction so much, guys. Don't think I've ever seen anyone get as excited or blown away by animation as you two were by this movie. It was wonderful. This movie was extremely well done for its time, and it's good to see it get the love it deserves. Your reactions to all of Lucifer's evil antics were fabulous. You had me laughing so hard. Did you guys notice the little detail with Bruno when the birds went to get the dog so he could help get rid of Lucifer? When the birds woke him, he had really dark bags under his eyes that weren't there in the earlier scenes he was in, implying he hasn't been sleeping well. Bruno was trying not to dream about catching Lucifer like Cinderella asked. Which meant he wasn't able to sleep well. He was going through all that for her. It's a beautiful part of the story that all the animals love sweet Cinderella so much that they're willing to do anything for her. Great job, guys. I agree, I hope you'll watch Sleeping Beauty soon. It's gorgeous, and it's another favorite of mine.

It was fun to watch this classic with you. I forgot how lovely it was. The older Disney definitely had something special. :)

Grace

Awesome! I hope you do Sleeping Beauty next 😁

The effect of depth was sometimes achieved through the Multiplane Camera (a Disney invention I think), which could hold cels at differing distances from the camera, and move them in relation to each other. One of the pivotal visual stylists for Cinderella was Mary Blair, who was influential at Disney in the 1950s. Her eye for color and texture is especially noticeable in things like the vistas of the castle with what you called its "icy" feel, and the night-time scenes with their depth of color. There's a fun story about Ilene Woods, the voice of Cinderella. She was working as a regular freelance singer in LA when she was asked to make a demo recording of the songs, to play for Walt Disney and give him an idea of the score, before any work on the film had begun. He liked the records so much, he offered her the actual role (which was not at all standard in that situation). If you ever see Sleeping Beauty (which is a favorite of mine because the visual style is so unique -- angular and medieval), you'll hear the voices of the fairy godmother and the stepmother again, as respectively one of the good fairies and the devilish Maleficent.

I don't know how many times I watched this movie as a kid, but it was my favorite Disney movie for a very long time. It is an absolutely beautiful movie!

I love the Classic princess voices. Cinderella's voice and Sleeping Beauty's (Aroura) voices are so sultry. Especially after Snow White's shrill voice. They really were voices that fit their time.

This is my favourite Disney animated movie of all time. So excited to watch along! Thanks a lot for your reaction guys. :)

You guys definitely need to check out the third movie called Cinderella: A Twist In Time. It is one of the best Disney sequels and there is also a difference in animation between the first and third.

Aww I'm going to enjoy this! I haven't seen this since I was in the single digits so it'll be nice to revisit this as an adult. IMO, when it comes to Disney, nothing beats the Classic animated films c:
