Yeah I love all the movies here but Cinderella is on a different level animation-wise. 100% of the film is hand-drawn, and the coloring is so breathtaking. I love the mice-Lucifer plot and how it's a metaphor for the Cinderella-stepmother plot. And the way the music is orchestrated is insane, every little action and movement in the visuals is accompanied by specific musical elements! Animated movies have not been made like that from the 70s onwards and it's really a shame.

Guys, it's ok. I think Nick is totally fine and he's much less rude than a lot of other people. Totally fine.

And the technical value Holly Molly… Can we speak about how gorgeous the animation is in Cinderella? Can we speak about the fact this was done in 1950? 1950!! I mean… Wow. That being said I love Ponyo. I am looking forward to Kiki's Delivery Service too

Nick I love anime too, but with cinderella it’s maybe not a matter of lack of substance but a lack of full understanding? Cinderella is all about being kind and strong, and about not letting anyone take your optimism, your confidence and your dreams away from you. It gives the message that you can overcome the difficulties of life and thrive while remaining a good person and true to yourself. The Cinderella story type has always been so classic and iconic through history around the world because the concepts explored in it are so deep and universal. This movie was also a massive hit that completely saved Disney from bankruptcy. You are entitled to your own opinion, and anime is reeeeally awesome! Totally cool if Cinderella is not your type of movie but saying it has no substance is kinda unfair. I encourage you to give it a new chance if you ever feel like it!

Hey Nick bro, you don't need to go put down what other people love to try elevate what you like, you know...? i mean no offense, i don't know you at all and i'm sure you are a great dude, but sometimes your energy is kinda negative in the comments, there is no need to be passive aggressive when you don't like what people are voting. Yes, all of the movies here are awesome and full of substance, and that includes Cinderella imho. You don't have to like it or appreciate it but there is no reason to be hating on it either. putting it down is not going to make your preferred movie look any better :)

The anime movies have way more substance and actual themes than something like Cinderella. Boi what da hell boi😂

Catching up on the final Harry Potter stream, and Ninetailedbrush just mentioned Nausicaa in the context of Ghibli; It’s TECHNICALLY not a Ghibli film, it’s like proto-Ghibli. It’s Miyazaki and co before they were officially Ghibli. But i consider it Ghibli, and i ALSO consider it the best Ghibli film, and one of my all time favorite anime. I plan on getting a big Nausicaa inspired tattoo soon. Highly recommend you add it to the next poll if you’re looking at doing more Ghibli or anime

Please, I’m begging to go for treasure planet!!! This is a legitimate master of animation for the time is was created! So many original sounds effects, character style choices, and creativity was poured into this film. Expertly combining different styles of animation and a brilliant story to match! Highly recommend to watch even if it doesn’t make it to the top in the poles!💙
