As someone who went to an elementary school named after a Native American who helped his people become civilized and yet white man still threw them off their land, I have a fierce passion when it comes to this sort of subject. I do think Jake could relate to the Omaticaya people because his brother had died because of a piece of paper in his wallet and the Omaticaya were being killed for a rock. Somethings just aren't worth taking a life for. The guy who played the commander I recommend checking out the tv show Terra Nova or even a really old movie The Amazing Panda Adventure that he's also in. And absolutely YESS on a Jurassic Park marathon!

It's a really visually cool movie that is very entertaining, but other than the world it's set in and the visuals, it doesn't really do anything new (very Pocahontas-meets-Fern-Gully-meets-white-savior-trope). And the bad guy was so cartoony. It WAS super cool to see this in 3D back when it came out though! I was blown away by how real everything looked.
