I voted for Nightmare because it would be perfect going into Halloween and I usually watch it a few times a year at that time. I think for animation, my favorite would have to be Beauty and the Beast. James Baxter just does amazing pencil and paper animation that looks like CGI.

Sleeping beauty is aesthetically beautiful, Aurora included, but story-wise, she has almost no lines and was a bit spoiled. If I had to choose a classic Disney princess it would be the hardworking Cinderella

I have to agree about sleeping beauty (though of the classics little mermaid is my fave and overall belle is my fave-not quite classic but not modern day)

I personally think that out of the really early Disney princess movies sleeping beauty is the best one. There isn't as much dead space in it and I really like the art style and the soundtrack. Of course from an animation perspective there's a lot to get out of all three of them. I like the story of Cinderella a lot and I think they did it very well. My most recent rewatch of Snow White was kind of a struggle though because of all the times when you just wished the plot would move on. I feel like sleeping beauty was Snow White but fully realized and without the filler.

I absolutely agree with you Ronja, Cinderella is my favourite precisely because of that. The people who complain she is not active and doesn't do anything miss the point so badly of what actually means being strong and true to yourself no matter what...!

I mean, I love Nightmare before Christmas to death (sorry for the pun xD), but I have to give a second vote to Cinderella because I am a sucker for main characters whose main attribute is kindness. There are not enough of them, and it is my most favourite heroic strength. The world would be a better place if we all were a tiny bit more like Cinderella...

All of them are fantastic, but since you guys really enjoyed Coraline, I believe that The Nightmare Before Christmas will be a fun ride. but I'd also love to watch you guys deep dive into the disney classics.

Little fun fact: the moment that Cinderella's dress is transformed into her ballgown was Walt Disney's favorite piece of animation they ever did. :)
