Hope you’re all hanging in there. I am currently in a standoff with the United States Postal Service. Every two days, I call and say “please pick up all of these packages?” and they say “ok!” and then they do not do that. And I get it! It’s annoying to have a job! But I have so MANY books, and I do not want to carry 300 books to the post office, and I know that they do not want me to show up with 200 packages. Anyway, if you haven’t received your Sex Change yet (lol), know that it is coming as soon as I solve USPS’s riddles three.

(You may ask: is this related to the federal shutdown? And I am being told: no.)

Speaking of Sex Change and the City, I am excited and terrified to finally announce our Portland event. This one, like all fun and normal events, requires context:

• Context Part 1: There’s a band in Seattle called Pansy, led by trans journalist Vivian McCall, that has a new EP called Skin Graft coming out one day after Sex Change comes out! You can read about their most recent single here.

• Context Part 2: Back in Portland in 2019, I formed an all-trans band with my friends Taegan and Julien. We were called Leisure Trash and we played one (1) show at Kelly’s Olympian in January 2020, and then COVID hit and we never recorded anything or played another show ever again.

Okay, so, now that you’re caught up! I thought it would be cute to have a Sex Change x Skin Graft collab party for our twin babies, the same way that we’re doing Sex Change from Hell in Brooklyn with LittlePuss. And we ended up booking that show at … Kelly’s Olympian. So I said, “ha ha ha ha, wouldn’t it be funny if Leisure Trash played a second show six years later?” and now we ARE GOING TO DO THAT???? Allegedly????

This event will be ticketed but the ticket link is not available yet, so in the meantime, mark your calendars for Nov. 19 (7pm doors/7:30pm show) at Kelly's Olympian if you would like to experience whatever this turns out to be. (There will be a chat about Sex Change in between sets and I will be bringing a zillion books so yes this is still a book tour event somehow!)

Can’t make it to Portland? I’ll also be in Philly (in 10 days!), Chicago, Minneapolis, Brooklyn, Seattle, and Oakland. A couple of those events are already waitlisted or nearly sold out, so be sure to RSVP for free here.
