Caro De Robertis! Two shows this week! 2011 tumblr vibes?

Hey friends,

Hope you’re all hanging in there. This is your final reminder :) that we will be performing our little Gender Ordeal show in Chicago on Thursday and in Minneapolis on Friday. Both shows will have tickets at the door, but ofc it’s a little cheaper to grab them in advance.

We also, of course, have our LAST SHOW LAST SHOW LAST SHOW at the Bell House in Brooklyn on May 9, which btw is really soon! In addition to Esther Fallick & Chris Renfro, I think we still have one more guest spot… who should our last special guest be? :)

Anyway, this week on Gender Reveal, we spoke with Caro De Robertis about So Many Stars, their oral history of 20 trans / genderqueer / two-spirit elders of color. It’s a really sweet book and a really sweet interview, and I hope you enjoy it! If nothing else (and there’s a lot else), I think it’s useful to hear Caro’s insights on authoritarianism vs dictatorships.

This week’s episode also includes information on crossing the US border in These Times. I stuck a bunch of resources in the show notes, but here they are again:

Back on Tumblr in like 2011 I read a post by some girlie that just said, like:

so
easy
to
be
sad

…which was basically the vibe of the Tumblrs I was on in college, but it still pops into my head sometimes (with the line breaks and all) so today for Links & Stuff, all I really have to say is that

Nice to see all of these protest photos though. Also, Niko announced her US tour stops which is soooo exciting! I can’t wait to… hang out.

Okay, that’s it for this week. Here’s your Weekly Rhubarb, courtesy of my roommate.
