Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. I still haven’t finished tomorrow’s episode soooo let’s get right to the main event! Well, first, disclaimers:
None of this is paid promo! Some of these people are my friends but mostly they are not.
I own stuff from most of these people but not every single one! Ymmv!
Not all of these people are trans but many of them are, and most of the rest are queer, and in one or two cases I don’t know and don’t want to litigate it but the vibe is good.
I’m not listing books because that’s too much to wade into and I’ll get in trouble for leaving someone out lol. (Oh, except Little Puss Press is having a huge sale with free ebooks!)
Speaking of: I surely forgot someone amazing, so please feel free to chime in with your own suggestions in the comments!
Tuck shameless self-promo:
We currently have live show tickets available for our DC, San Francisco, and Seattle shows. (There are 3 tickets left for Seattle, oops, and DC is almost out of whatever “premiere” tickets means)
You can grab 2T2F cheap from AK Press or slightly less cheap from me directly
Patreon allegedly offers gift subscriptions now, so you could pay to let a friend access whatever the hell we’re doing over here
Very specific items that someone might need:
Piss mugs by Liz Born (my gf sent me one and I put it on my special bookshelf for safekeeping but then my whole bookshelf collapsed and it broke but then I glued it back together because I love it so much and it looks even cooler now imo)
Ceramic creatures by Fat Snails (check their “FOR SALE” story)
Gay rug art by I Look Great With Rugs
Candles shaped like hot fat queer bodies by CTOAN
Queer skateboards by Unity
Choose Your Own Dykeventure zines by Maddy Court
Cute colorful wiggly tables from Object Lover
Handmade earrings from former pod guest Lehuauakea
If you have the money, why not buy a Shing Yin Khor original?
Queer candles from Queer Candle Co #NoPromo #ButUseOurPromoCode
A Hirbawi kufiya whenever they next restock!
Prints & art:
Barry Lee is closing shop on Tuesday, so move quickly!
I bought sooo many prints from this Secret Room Press series and I still want more tbh
Huge fan of Halsey Berryman’s anarchist bird series but you could also get this for the Chappell fans in your life.
One wall in my living room is dedicated to Felix d’Eon art (and it’s fun to see who notices that two guys are sucking dick and cock up there)
Animal Sleep is usually where I buy my calendars — they’re not offering one this year but they still have one zillion incredible prints
Em Jon-Michael Frank’s prints are so so important when you are Sad or In Therapy but I also have this one and it makes me laugh a lot (also, looks like they’re on sale for $10! Wow!)
Kah Yangni has beautiful prints and children’s books!
Softprints is a local NYC artist who also has lots of great stickers and keychains
Prints & art & also clothes:
I love Io so much. What else is there to say? They invented ~be gay do crime~ and every design they’ve printed since then is another banger
Toxic Femme is also an absolute icon putting out hit after hit (with plenty of stickers & koozies for cheap gifts)
Shoog sells prints of their stunning fat queer portrait series AND iconic hats
Transfigure Print Co are the folks behind those iconic Protect Trans Kids shirts!
Gender Reveal alum Demian DinéYazhi’ runs the wonderful Rise Indigenous store
More clothes:
Girl of Swords is one of the most powerful to ever do it (I have this one)
For Everyone Collective, which sells cool abolitionist shirts, is worker-owned and operated by formerly incarcerated people!
Technically Bird Collective clothes aren’t all gay but also dude come on
Zines / pins / stickers:
Sweater Muppet is out here making some of the most important trans stickers of all time imho
Craft or DIY has loads of great little queer zines and pins — I love to buy this one for people and then get worried that they’ll be offended lol
Strongly recommend signing up for Shay Mirk’s zine of the month club, for yourself or a friend! It’s a really good deal and has introduced me to so many rad artists
Gabby Kash makes art of these cats that are both cute and colorful and somehow freaky? Incredible vibe, I aspire to it.
Phew, I really feel like I’m forgetting so many people but here’s where we gotta end it for now. If you end up buying any of these items, please let me know — I don’t get a commish or anything, I’m just nosy :) :)
That seems like enough for today. Here’s your Weekly Rhubarb, courtesy of my roommate.
