2021-08-12 00:00:08 +0000 UTComg finally got to watch your reaction and it was amazing watching this movie again with you guys. and you're so correct like this movie really is "the trolley problem" where it's like do you actively choose to kill one person to save five, or do you passively allow the train to kill the five people instead. it really is like the ultimate philosophical question, and it's shown over and over in this movie (especially with the ending, and also when curtis chose to try to end the battle with the executioners and save everyone and not just save his friend). i love this movie and the filming/lighting/set design/etc. is so amazing. and the parallel at the end of curtis actually sacrificing his arm to save timmy when he couldn't cut his arm off in the past like it's literally full circle. and the ending shot with the polar bear showing that there is life on earth. honestly such a great, unique and well directed/acted movie and i'm so glad you guys liked it!
