I'm not sure if any one has pointed this out yet but, the actor who plays the "Master of the House" in this and Pirelli in Sweeny Todd is Sacha Baron Cohen aka. Borat hahaha

Also a lot of the support cast are from the show. Having said that I think Anne had family that played a role in Les Miz so it meant a lot to her.

I love this movie. I prefer the 10th anniversary performance but as a movie version it’s definitely a great version. If you like the movie check out the 10th anniversary performance. It’s on YouTube and on DVD

I love so many songs in this musical if not almost all. Look down, stars, master of the house, the confrontation, Javert's suicide, drink with me, do you hear the people sing, Red and Black, on my own, and my favorite one more day which they sing together. Absolutely love that song.

Such a good musical

Ninetails makes a good point about it being better when the singing and acting is more raw. The problem I had with this film is that generally I felt a lot of the vocals were quite underwhelming. The calibre of music and singing/ dancing is a critical factor for me when watching musicals (personally).

Fun fact: the bishop in the film is played by Colm Wilkinson who originated the role of Jean Valjean on Broadway :) Also there's a street near me named after the character

First time I saw this was in English class i enjoyed it a lot, personally I love the "keeper of the house" scene, its straight up my kind of humor. Just stupid humor lol. Ps. Ninetail I agree 100% on your take on musical movies I never came to that conclusion but I feel the same exact way
