Little Women UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

Comments

1990’s version is much better. This is just pandering and terrible

Angelic_Wings

Aww thanks. Well hopefully you stick around :)

Guys I loved your reaction to this!

H. Maurier

Bought a membership just so I could watch you guys react to the whole movie. Little Women (all versions especially this 2019 one) is and if not my favourite movie ever.

Jorreca

Second both Lady Bird and Call Me By Your Name!

Mariah Fallon

You should watch the Wynonna Ryder Little Woman version. So much better than this one IMO. :)

Erin

I second the “Emma” recommendation. Hubby says try “Jane Eyre”, one of the few period classics he really likes. The Bronte sisters liked their dark storytelling. I think the 2011 one is the one we watch the most.

Carna Steimel

love seeing you react to things like this! Would add Emma (2020). to the recommendation list. I think it’s very funny and full of color

We have seen Midsommar

Yeah, I thought about Brigerton, but it does kill the whole family friendly thing

It’s so awesome!!!

At about 31 minutes - I love the juxtaposition of the girls and Marmee taking their Xmas breakfast to the poor family while passing in front of the church. All those folks going in to have their Xmas service and the March family is actually doing something. Not to impugn anyone...it's just a very deliberate shot.

Do you guys not want to do Game of Thrones because of the violence or because of the nudity? Because if you enjoy period stuff then I'd recommend Bridgerton. It's 8 episodes, so not too long- only thing is there is nudity and sex in it, so if that's why you've avoided GOT then I guess you wouldn't want to do Bridgerton either.

Heidi Liedtke

The character Jo is heavily based on the author (Louisa May Alcott) herself. Alcott never married or had any children. Also, if you like Florence Pugh and haven't seen Midsommar yet, you should definitely watch it. She's amazing in it.

Ruma Risto

LOVE this version and it was really fun watching you guys react and get into it as much as you did. I thought it was genius the way they flashed back and forth in this version; it's not like that in the book or other movies, but it makes the story so much more interesting. I agree that the characters are more fleshed out in this. Before I saw this version I hated Amy because she was a whiny brat, but in this she's my favorite! Florence Pugh did such an amazing job with her! Thanks for doing this one! Glad you guys liked it.

Megan the Librarian

I absolutely adore this movie, it is such a comfort movie for me. Everything from the score to the cinematography to the acting is just SO top notch. One of my favorites of all time!

Tiffany Tews

Why...what about it? Wrong time period or just off in every way?

Acting...so...good. Costumes.....so.....inaccurate *screams in costume designer*

Leah Kotlarchyk

It's so weird! I was JUST talking about the differences between the two movies with my family before "forcing" them to watch the 1994 version. It was hard to decide which to show them but now it's like it was meant to be, because now I get to watch the 2019 one anyway!

Jessi

Emma is my favourite from Austen but if they ever give it a chance I sincerely hope they would watch the Gwyneth Paltrow version from 1996 even though the Beckinsale one is my favourite. I know the new one is apparently the most "accurate" but it felt too modern for me.

Effie

woah I am so happy someone requested this, Greta Gerwig is one of my favorite directors rn and this movie is phenomenal

solaa

Pride and Prejudice AND Little Women, I can't stop winning. Now hoping that Emma (2020) is somewhere on the list too!

gwyn

This is by far my favorite movie I’ve ever seen. I am so inspired by the way Greta Gerwig directs and writes. Her ability to capture moments and communicate a feeling is unmatched. If you liked this movie, y’all should definitely check out her movie, Lady Bird. It also features the actors/actresses who played Laurie and Jo. Also, Call Me By Your Name is another amazing movie in terms of acting, directing and cinematography.

You guys are officially my super favorites! It’s like you know when it’s been a hard day. :) Thank you and I’m super excited to watch tonight!!

Jessi

Thank you so much for doing this. I requested it, I know the story, I knew it was coming... But every time I see the Beth scenes I break down a lot. There's a bit of the life story of the author injected into the movie but I love that aspect of it. Also, in the 1994 version there were two different actresses that play Amy to help demonstrate the age difference. I was nervous about that aspect of this movie but it was done so well. The color tone of the flashbacks vs current time to help demonstrate the time passages was brilliant

Never read the book or saw the other rendisions but I love this movie (I adore how Florence Pugh portrayed Amy, but I love all the characters, & am a big Amy x Laurie shipper) so I'm glad you liked the movie 😊.

Oh I love this movie so much 💚 I couldn't stop crying in the cinema, and throughout the entire day really, it's the first time I feel like my Aromantic self has been represented (Jo March is 100% Aro, fight me) in any form of media that isn't the cliché "too villainous to be able to love"

Same, I grew up watching the 1994 version so I think my heart will always be with that one, but this version is also really great

ronnie

Cool, i havent seen this version yet (usually i watch the 1994 version) but i adore the book so im down with any rendition.

Amanda Logsdon

I cried so much in the theatre watching this one… such a good movie
