2021-07-31 06:17:48 +0000 UTCBefore you watch Temple of Doom, maybe it's best to go into it knowing that Spielberg pulled out all the stops for it - for better or worse. It's over the top in nearly every way possible, from the outlandish tone which alternates between cartoonish and horrific; the relentless pacing; and unfortunately, even some of the characterizations. It's kind of a contentious movie that incited some controversy when it came out (for more than one reason), and many fans outright dislike it. I personally think it has a ton of good stuff in it, including Ford's "all in" performance. But it helps to know that a lot of people have problems with this movie. That way your expectations will be tempered enough that you'll be more likely to be pleasantly surprised, rather than disappointed.
