Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. Drag Race starts in an hour, and while the show is bad — Jane was right to say it — I’m so glad to see that this season’s girls are finally girling. Love 2 b a gender detective!!
This week, as you very well know by now, we’ve got a two-parter with longtime friend-of-the-show Cassius Adair. In the main Gender Reveal feed, Cass and I spend an hour talking about trans studies gossip, hot trans social contagion (complimentary), trans-ish-but-not-really cults, trans fertility myths, and “t4t: part of trans awareness week by Microsoft.”
Then, on Gender Conceal, we talk about same-autism, Animorphs, Leo DiCaprio sex rumors, transing your siblings, what DND podcasts we listen to (sorry!), and of course a bunch of SECRETS. I also try to get Cass to name his kid Aximili but ALAS.
(He didn’t name the kid Alas either, to be clear. Imagine, though!)
Here’s the baby, by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photo: Cass's baby wrapped in a space-themed blanket, raising a little fist straight above her head like she's practicing for a protest.
(And speaking of babies, if you or anyone you know is like “wow I wish I had more pregnant-transmasc podcasts to listen to,” don’t miss our previous episodes with Ari Robbins Greene and Krys Malcolm Belc.)
Next week, as previously mentioned, we’ve got Shuli Branson on the podcast to talk about anarchism, youth liberation, gender abolition, breakups, money, protests, and taking a shift at the depression factory. I also wrote a non-newsy This Week in Gender segment that might be terrible but that’s how it goes sometimes.
My production update is that we’ve got 3 episodes out, 4 additional episodes recorded, 3 more episodes scheduled, and a few more that we’re still feeling out. I started writing something annoying about how much work that is, and then I remembered the part of Shuli’s episode where I sincerely ask her if I ever work. Impossible to know!!!! You can weigh in next week, lol.
OK, here’s Links & Stuff:
And here’s a special NYC-themed bunch this week, sry:

Finally, to the haters... !!!!!!!!
That’s it for this week. Here’s your Weekly Rhubarb.

Photo: Ruby standing on Cass's shoulders. Ruby's ears are back and she looks very surprised. Honestly, she looks like Flaco the owl. Cass looks stoked.
Xo,
Yr resident gender detective
