Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. I went to the Trans Art Bazaar (excuse me, BOO-zaar) today and met so many nice people! (I learned that the secret to talking with everyone is to wear a gay Waffle House shirt.) Here are just a few of the many folks whose art I appreciated.
And speaking of trans artists, there are only like nine days left to apply for this year’s grant program! That’s simply not very many days. Please pass the link along to any trans folks of color doing rad community work — we’re giving out grants as big as $1000 this year, which is huge for us (lol), and hopefully can make a big difference for some cool trans projects.
Apropos of truly nothing, I’ve been trying to remember to say this like once a year, so, just a reminder that if you hit reply on these newsletter, your email goes into a void. If you’re trying to suggest/ask/etc something, use the comment function on patreon instead. Or message us or whatever. OK, that’s it until 2024.
Thanks for the guest suggestions last week, by the way! Ozzy and I are meeting tomorrow to talk through some potential guests for next season, and our list is soooo long. Very exciting to have so many cool smart fun trans people in the world, but also, now we have to make CHOICES??? Rude.
Meanwhile! We ran out of tickets for the tiny 2 Trans 2 Furious book event in Los Angeles, but then the venue said “just kidding we made some more tickets!” so now you can once again grab a FREE ticket to see Tre’vell Anderson and Mckenzee and me chat about my silly book. Grab yours before they run out again! (Not to be dramatic but like, the last time I was in LA was THE WEEKEND I CREATED GENDER REVEAL in 2017, so like, who knows when I’ll ever be back again???)
Oh hey, speaking of the book… we’re essentially out of copies and we don’t really have the budget to reprint until we have a new project to print alongside it, so my brain is unfortunately thinking about what the next anthology should be. Please tell me to stop creating projects!!!! (Or, even better, let me know what you think the next anthology should be about!!! JK UNLESS!!!!)

Text: An incredible 5-star Goodreads review from Jae Lin that says "honestly, this was the best. it was amazing. just. 10/10. I have never seen a Fast movie in my life. I love trans people."
Ok, this is reaching unhinged levels of punctuation. Time to be normal and do Links & Stuff:

Text: “You’re not going to believe this elephant that’s just absolutely throwing ass."

Text: "The author Fran Lebowitz said she was surprised to see the mascot when she and a friend went to see the Liberty... Of Ellie’s dance skills, she added: “She did seem to be, I guess, very good for an elephant.”
Ready to read the whole thing? Good. Gift link here. (You will never convince me that Ellie is not a femme dyke.)
Moving on...
That’s it for this week. Here’s your weekly Rhubarb.

PS: I just sent out 150 envelopes of stickers for newish $5 patreon rewards, so if you joined or upgraded in the last like six months, keep an eye out! (I’ve got another 100 to go, so if you don’t see yours yet, no worries. Also, if you’re a new $40+ patron, I’m waiting on some fun stuff to arrive for ya, so that’s also delayed! But it’s in progress! Ok bye for real!)
