Soleil Ho! Tuck & Mckenzee AMA! GOOD trans journalism?

Hey friends,

Hope you’re all hanging in there. I’m doing a wild new thing called “writing the newsletter from my phone at the bodega while I wait a very long time for a breakfast burrito” so let’s see how that goes.

This week on the show, we spoke with returning guest Soleil Ho about abolishing restaurants, infiltrating anti-trans fundraising dinners, and working towards worldwide socialist revolution. Soleil also recommended the Let’s Play of Umineko no Naku Koro ni, and I started reading it only to realize that it would take many hundreds of hours to complete? But I do believe Soleil that it’s a postmodern gender-y marvel and better than Infinite Jest.

We also have a new Gender Conceal episode this week! I spoke with my friend Julien about working in trans healthcare, changing their name three or four times, sharing a trans doctor & trans therapist — and trans surgeon, now that I think about it, but we didn’t talk about that — and being a “little street urchin scumbag” in 1990s NYC. It’s a weird one and I hope y’all enjoy it.

In the Julien ep, I mention that I’m going to try to rope Mckenzee into recording a little AMA for next month’s Gender Conceal episode. I realized yesterday that we would need to record that within the next few days, so if you DO have any questions for Mckenzee and/or me, please leave them in the comments post-haste! tysm.

OK, I know everyone is so so tired of hearing this, but: live show on Monday! Casey Plett is reading and answering some questions about her fanfic days; Kendra Wells is showing us the anime babes that made them gay; Fran Tirado is playing a “fast”-themed version of Duck Duck Go (and talking about Doll Invasion); and Mattie Lubchansky is reading trans comics and playing a little trivia game with [redacted guest] in a battle for trans supremacy. Oh, and I’m gonna draw my own L-Word chart and show a lot of pics of my cat. See you there!
