Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. Rhubarb and I have successfully relocated from Queens to Brooklyn, and after few days of moving way way way too hard, I am now starting to regain the rhythms of normal life (eating, working, etc.).
The most exciting thing about this new apartment is that it has a designated podcast-recording hole (the p-hole, if you will) with lots of natural soundproofing. So if you are for some reason listening to our little interview show with professional-grade headphones, you will hopefully really hear a difference, lol.
In the meantime, we’ve got a couple more echo-y Queens bedroom-recorded episodes in production for ya. Next week, Mckenzee is back for what I think might be the best advice episode we’ve ever done?? YMMV as I’ve sort of forgotten all the other ones, but I just have to hope we’re not giving worse advice over time.
And this week, we’ve got Ozzy’s interview with tattoo artist M Nijiya! Ozzy did such a great job with this one, not only with the interview (which rules) but also with the editing — just between you and me, we had some really really wild technical difficulties while recording, and I’m actually stunned that you cannot hear that at ALL in the final episode. Incredible!
Anyway, if you haven’t heard the episode yet, I’m excited for you you to listen. Ozzy and M talk about all sorts of tattoo topics (gender affirming tattoos! nipple tat advice! Japanese-style tattoos and cultural appropriation! Tattoos and autism! Why face tattoos are good for introverts!) plus other good stuff (doing drag for 18 years to find your gender! Choosing a new last name that reflects your heritage and values!) And of course, I had to pop in to ask annoying questions like “which gets you more ~irreversible damage~ concern-trolling, full-body tattoos or transsexuality?”

Photo: I assume this is a phallo scar cover-up but it's possible that it's just a nice tattoo of a dog with a rectangular background.
In other podcast news, we’re running a sale on our entire merch store for a couple more days! Use code PRIDE4EVER through Sunday to save 10% off everything.
HOWEVER! A disclaimer: I recently learned that Teespring is super backed up on orders, so it might be a little while before you get your order. In fact, some of you might still be waiting on merch from previous months/collections?! If you have any questions about your order, please reach out to Teespring support, as I do not touch the merch and have no control over it. That said, I do have control over opening and closing the shop, so I’ll be closing it at the end of this month until they figure this whole thing out.
Also, I’m running behind on wrapping up 2 Trans 2 Furious due to the whole “moving” thing, so presales are still open for, idk, a few more days? Who can say? I still need to reach out to some indie zine/book shops to see if they want to order any wholesale copies, so if you know a locally-owned shop who might be interested, please send them my way or vice versa. :)
Also also, our mailing address has changed! It is now:

Oh my god everyone, I almost forgot to tell you that thanks to your help, I GOT TO EAT THE VEGAN CRUNCHWRAP. I made Jaya go with me for research and we both agreed that it was GOOD and wanted to eat MORE of them! So hoping praying for us all that it becomes a regular widespread menu item. (Really sorry to say but it is better than the current vegan options.)

OK, let’s do Links & Stuff:
That’s it for this week. Maybe I’ll see some of you at Normal Gossip tonight? Or at any of the other shenanigans over the next couple of weeks?
In the meantime… Here’s your weekly Rhubarb. She loves her new apartment. :)
