The Hunchback of Notre Dame UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

The musical is even better and yes I can confirm that in the book it’s far more tragic but even more beautiful. Still… this is one of the better Disney movies in my humble opinion. Check out the musical and read the book. It’s so relevant for these times

So glad you liked it as it's one of the most mature Disney movies. While I've never read the book myself from what I've heard, the big differences in the book are 1. Frollo is the archdeacon of Notre Dame not the minster of justice, 2. Frollo is much younger (in the book he's in he's 36 whereas in the movie he's 66) 3. Frollo is supposedly more tragic then villainous (being an orphan who's parents died from the plauge) 4. Frollo's death is caused by Quasimodo's throwing him off the roof in a rage 5. Quasimodo is half blind (since birth) & deaf (from all the years of ringing the bells) 6. Esmeralda dies (from smoke inhalation) & Quasimodo leaves Notre Dame with her corpes & years later thier skeletons are found intertwined (Quasimodo died of starvation) & when the excavation team try to separate them he's bones crumble to dust 7. Esmeralda is 16 (whereas she appears to be in her early 20's in the movie, which is good as Phoebus was 31 in the book & Quasimodo is meant to be 20 in both versions) 8. Frollo attacks Phoebus when he finds him & Esmeralda about to engage in a certain "physical activity" & then runs away leaving Esmeralda looking like the attacker, Phoebus dosn't die from he's injuries but wakes up imprisoned & furious with Esmeralda as he thinks she tricked him & is the one who attacked him so dosn't do anything to try to help her when she's tied up & choking (yeah he's not that great in the book)

If you ever have the chance, check out the Disney Musical! It's based more on the book and does not have a typical Disney ending! The story is much more dark and the music is the most epic score ever written for a musical! 😊 Quasimodo is actually almost deaf due to him being so close to the bells all those years.

I'm so glad this won! I've not watched it in full in a long time....but wow the music, the imagery, everything is so epic. This was Disney in it's prime. Amazing reaction as always :)
