Oh man... I WISH I hadn't seen Buffy so I could do reactions to it. There are several people that literally make thousands of dollars per month just on Buffy... the fans are generally older and already have money to spare. I understand, shit happens... but you're leaving a lot of money on the table, and you know how reactions work. If you stop something, the momentum never returns the same way. Gotta say, I'd do everything I could to make this happen if I were you... even if just for your pockets.

I do respect their descision, it was just a suggestion. And I didnt mean they should drop everything else meanwhile they watch a season, they can watch other requests in between episodes as usual. Im just trying to help solve the situation with a suggestion.

Dont know if you will see this but a suggestion.. Maybe you can watch 1 season at a time. Start with season 1 and then do a break for example 1 month to watch other requests (as well as watching other stuff between episodes), and then continue with season 2 etc.. In that way the fans will stay for Buffy (one of the most popular requests) as well as you will be able to incorporate a lot of other stuff. Just a suggestion :) I would also love to continue watching Buffy with you guys.

I concluded that too Jonathan....they have so many requests so I understand that can be overwhelming. But the thing is if you do a long running show like this I think that most sensible people are not expecting a commitment to the whole show upfront anyway. If you are enjoying a show it just seems more logical to continue until you no longer enjoy it or reevaluate per season. There will always be over zealous fans whether you watch Stranger Things or Game of Thrones but if you are honest about your limits then the level headed ones will stick around no matter what. I do understand their position but i hope they'll reconsider this again some time in the future.

I have too . And the conclusion is this . They don't want to get bogged down with just reacting to one long continuous series when they already have so much on their plate as it is . Knowing your limitations and what you can handle is a big part of why this is happening . It's not that they do not want to continue on with it , it's because of the stuff on their movie content is continuously growing fast that their trying to keep up with that . Remember , they are a still new channel . They need to learn what they can handle and what they can't . It's just not feasible right now to do this now . They might come back and do it later . Who knows .

I have read all these comments and also commented my opinion myself. And I still like most people on here dont get it we all thought that we were strapping ourselves in for the brilliant awesome ride that is Buffy with you guys. And we all thought that because thats the Impression you gave. But we all do understand its your choice and just leave it at that. I dont think any of us are angry just a bit baffled thats all.

Same, I was excited because I always love new Buffy reactors, and I really enjoyed these guys' reactions. Leaving for now, as I'm not really interested in the other stuff here, but I'll check back in a few months as well.

I respect their decision as well but I don't understand it either. The support is there, they enjoyed it and if length is an issue then I'm sure the fans would be happy to compromise. If copyright is an issue then link to streamable. The storytelling is one of the strongest parts of the show later on so it's a shame. I think most of the frustration comes from people not understanding the reasoning. But in the end they have a right to choose what they watch so I totally get that :)

Okay there's 62 comments on this so if this is not a new idea, forgive me, and if you don't read this, totally understandable, however: What if you continued watching the show in your free time, and we voted on episodes that you post. I understand there's the copyright side as well so I don't know about that part, but that would help the sheer amount of videos you'd have to post and you wouldn't lose so many patreons. I mean I came for Starkid, and I'm probably going to stick around regardless, but I do love Buffy very much and I hate to see so many people leave. Anyway, just an idea!

Oh well, that's disappointing. Guess this Patreon stint only lasted for a few day, as I'm here solely for Buffy. Doesn't make much sense to me, for a few reasons 1. Buffy is incredibly popular, and as more people saw you were doing it, you'd probably get an influx of people joining Patreon, just like every other Buffy reactor who is semi-interesting to watch does (and you guys were great to watch), and; 2. It's actually an amazing, unique, and really well-renowned show, so if you enjoy TV, you're doing yourselves a disservice by not watching it. Your decision though, and I respect it, but I just think you're underestimating the difference that Buffy would make to your channel, as it has an enormous following of extremely loyal fans. Good luck though!

It might be a good idea to go edit the pinned comment on episode 2 of Buffy on YouTube that you are continuing. That video is still getting some views and people might see that decide to become patrons for Buffy only to learn that you’re actually not continuing. (That comment is why I subbed for example though it was before you made the decision not to continue.) I’m gonna stick around for a while cause I like a lot of your other videos and am holding out hope that maybe after firefly you’ll get back to Buffy but it would not be a good look for people to join after watching that video and reading that comment only to find out you’re not gonna continue after all.

I'm guessing they don't want to be tied down to one show for that long because they have so many tv shows they probably want to test out/ tv shows they get requests for. Buffy I think is their first 'old' tv show...modern shows these days are only 10 episodes long whereas Buffy has 22 eps (normal for the 90s). I know they don't want to disappoint the fans but honestly if you ask them I'm pretty sure they'd take 2 seasons over none at all.

I don't understand why the length of Buffy is an issue, you don't have to watch at a faster pace because it's longer, the time commitment per week or month is not different for a 7 season show than it would be for a 2 season show.

There are many reactors that DON’T do that. Please contact other reactors for advise. You don’t need to just cave in whenever something goes wrong. Alley Box, Liam Catterson and Darcie’s watching Buffy are all reactors of Buffy that I patronize currently and all of them provide a clear Picture in Picture and they are posting to YouTube. Please stop trying to guess your way through this. Remember…What would Buffy do?

Although buffy is a great show, it be completely unreasonable and unfair to the other people who want to see them react to other shows. Not everyone is a fan of buffy so they’d lose people if they did that.

Do you mean you're having copyright issues posting it here on Patreon? If so, I think there's an easy solution. Most reactors that I've subscribed to don't actually include a clear copy of the movie/show they're reacting to. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that you do that for your patrons. But maybe for special cases like this one, you should revert to what other reactors do: Instead of a crystal-clear picture-in-picture, they have a very blurry representation of the show playing with no audio. Yes, this requires that patrons have their own copy of the show/movie that they can play along in synch with your reaction. And while I'm sure people are accustomed to the convenience of your uploads where the movie/show can be seen and heard clearly within your reaction - they'd settle for a compromise if it meant you continued to react to a show they were looking forward to.

Agree Heidi think some people became patrons just for Buffy reactions I myself was already here enjoying their reactions but was ecstatically happy when they said they were going to react to buffy as its one of my favourite shows of all time. So yes I agree with you they need to do some research first before getting peoples hopes up.

I totally get it, and personally don't mind as I haven't seen Buffy, I just wanted to say that you might want to be a bit more careful with telling your patreons what you're going to react to, and then deciding later that you're not going to. I get that you can't always control things, and can't foresee the future, but I think this is the third (? definitely second, after GOT) time this has happened, and it's not a great look to say something, possibly get people to support, and then back out if it. Maybe in the future just make sure you research the length of the show and if it's something you guys are definitely going to react to, before you tell us.

I actually follow a lot of Buffy reactors and most of them stop after S4 (as it is a long show) and the fanbase seem to be fine with that.....only a handful have completed the whole show so I really don't think most people expect that from reactors anyway.

James I really, really hope you will reconsider. I know a lot of Buffy fans expect you to do 7 seasons but in all honesty what made the show groundbreaking was Season 2. This is the most important season in my opinion. You could easily just do S1 and S2 then take a break after that. In the early seasons there was always fear of cancellation so the finale was made as if it was the last one. I'd be happy if you at least make it to Season 2 :) PS: Regarding copyright Domi said, that is normal and you can just dispute it and they will release it.

Daaaaaamn, I was really looking forward to Buffy. It's my favorite show of all time (watched it 20+ times from start to finish throughout my life) and would have loved to see you guys react to it. But I understand that it might be too difficult to get out there. Hopefully some time in the future--despite it being a much longer show than you guys have done before, I think that the experience is MORE than worth it.

Probably a good idea. Although I do love Buffy with all my heart it is a very long show and if you want something quicker to get through then Firefly is a better option (just make sure you watch it in the correct order and not the way it was aired and dont forget Serenity at the end!)

Buffy is better than any other show you are watching. It is a full 7 seasons, but each season is better than the one before it. It just keeps getting better and better. You could stop reacting to everything else and focus on Buffy and your subscriber list would easily double almost over night. Firefly is good, but not great and not even close to being a substitute for Buffy. I enjoy your reactions but it was your Buffy reaction that got me to became a patron.

Damn... I've been so hyped for your Buffy reactions. And yeah, you would need to do about 3 episodes a week though to get through it in a reasonable time. And I know with all the other series you do AND taking reaction requests, it would be impossible for you guys. It's a shame though, it's an amazing series and goes into some deep lore.

Yeah I love Buffy but this is a commitment, and a long one at that. It’s amazing and absolutely worth the watch at some point (for the show or not), but it completely makes sense that you need to step away.

How about doing Chernobyl . It's a 5 episode Limited series based on the Chernobyl disaster and the clean up efforts and investigation into the disaster . It's a very impactful and emotional drama that would be worth watching .

That’s unfortunate. As far as the copyright issues go there are a lot of Buffy reactors out there most of whom I’m sure would be happy to give advice on dealing with that if you reached out. I’m pretty sure a lot of the newer reactors talked to Shan from “After Show Reactions” to give advice on how she dealt with the copyright. As far as it being a long show, yeah that’s true but pretty much every season is better than the last and is very much worth the time investment. I joined for this show but I’ve enjoyed a lot of the other stuff I watched. If you’re doing firefly I’ll definitely stick around for that and hopefully you decide to get back to Buffy. It would be a shame to miss out on what is widely considered one of the best series of all time (and that’s not hyperbole you can check out the lists) just beacause it managed to get 7 seasons.
