Lily Zheng! Jinkx Monsoon?! It/IT representation?!

Hey friends,

Hope you’re all hanging in there! I am mostly hanging out at home, trying to not get any of several plagues before our live show. (Did you know we’re having a live show??? On Wednesday??? At the bell house???) But I did manage to briefly meet Jinkx Monsoon yesterday after seeing her play Mama Morton in Chicago, so I absolutely cannot complain about anything ever again. (There should be a video in our IG story for a couple more hours! Go go go!)

• I’m reading Mattie’s new book right now and it is TRULY SO GOOD. I just preordered it so I can get my own copy, and you absolutely should too, if you can! It’s 25% off through tonight on Barnes & Noble, or you can get it from your local bookshop/library.
• My friend Muffy is a beautiful genius and I felt seen and attacked by their latest essay.

• If you like D&D-type podcasts, or just comedy podcasts, or just having a good time, you should listen to Rude Tales of Magic! I never know how to sell people on this very good show but maybe this list will help.
• Melanie Lynskey answered advice for Dear Prudence, and along the way she gave little tidbits about her Yellowjackets cast members and also a cute anecdote from her 20s.
• Speaking of advice, Autostraddle ran a beautiful and honest response to an advice-seeker who fatshamed their girlfriend.
• OK, stay with me here: Lindy West has a comedy movie recap newsletter called Butt News, and she recently added a feature where, for $5, you can subscribe to a podcast of her reading her recaps out loud. I listened to her 30-minute recap of Fast & Furious and it had me CACKLING on the street while running! Strangers were probably like “??????” It is worth the $5 and the annoyance of having to download the Substack app to listen on your phone, imo.
