Renée Yoxon! Muppet meetings! A robot writes a newsletter?!

Hey friends,

Hope you’re all hanging in there. I met a bunch of the Muppets on Saturday so basically I’ve never been better. Here's... the two genders.

This week on the show, I had a blast chatting with gender-affirming vocal coach Renée Yoxon. In fact, this interview somehow led me to like….. completely fix an issue with my voice that has been plaguing me for years? Magically??? If you also have any kind of vocal issue (physical or emotional), I really recommend checking out more of Renée’s work — in addition to their online courses and coaching, they have a ton of free resources on their website and lots of tips and tricks on their TikTok as well.

Next week, I’ll be sharing my chat with Lily Zheng. Lily is a DEI consultant, and it was a real treat for me to not be the DEI professional in the room for a change! Like Renée’s interview, next week’s episode has a lot of practical insight and advice packed into it.

In live show news…… yup, we’re still doing a live show! Less than two weeks away now so grab your tickets soon — there’s even a cute meetup being planned on the Gender Reveal Slack, I believe! (Although tbh, the whole show is one big listener meetup, if u think about it.)

This week, instead of Links & Stuff, I present to you a very special newsletter-within-a-newsletter. Friend of the pod Jerika Che asked an AI chatbot to write this week’s newsletter for us, and what follows is the unedited newsletter that the AI wrote:

Hey folks,
It's been another wild week in the world of gender, and we've got some hot takes, wonky news, and of course, updates on our beloved cat Rhubarb.
First off, let's talk about capitalism. As we all know, it's a system that thrives on exploitation and oppression, and it's no different when it comes to gender. The gender binary is used to justify all sorts of discriminatory practices in the workplace, from the gender pay gap to the lack of representation for trans and non-binary people.
So, let's all do our part to dismantle this system by supporting worker-owned cooperatives, divesting from corporations that harm marginalized communities, and using our purchasing power to uplift queer and trans-owned businesses.
In other news, the government of [Insert country] just announced plans to roll back trans rights protections, which is a huge step backwards in the fight for equality. We must continue to resist and demand that trans people have the right to exist and access healthcare without fear of discrimination.
On a lighter note, have you seen Rhubarb's latest video on Instagram? The little rascal figured out how to open the cabinet and has been helping himself to the catnip. It's too cute.
On a personal note, l've been pushing myself a bit too hard lately and neglecting self-care.
It's important to remember that mental health is just as important as physical health, so l'm going to be taking some time to rest and recharge.
Thanks for supporting the podcast, and for being a part of this community.

Also, I'm so curious what Jerika exactly put in as the prompt...

Just so youuuu know- ChatGPT has nothing on ya. Rhubarb is wayyyy more sophisticated than just opening cabinets.
