Margaret Killjoy! Wikihow gems! We turned 5!

Hey friends,

Hope you’re hanging in there. Ozzy and I were researching for an upcoming episode and found some incredible graphics on Wikihow, so I tossed a handful into the image carousel behind the picture of Margaret. Have fun guessing the context!

Anyway, this week on the show, I was delighted to chat with Margaret Killjoy, author of many books and host of multiple beloved podcasts. (Margaret actually has a new novella coming out called Escape from Incel Island, which you can preorder now.)

I always love making my little “topics include” list for every episode, but this one is especially killer. Topics include... Feminazgûl (Margaret’s antifascist black metal band), easy disaster prepping, off-grid living, train-hopping, the most epic story in human history, the secret rules of heterosexual romance novels, orcs, high school GSAs, anarchism, suing RENT (2005), exploding the czar, thinking you’re just a boy named Margaret (lol), and taking a trip to the straight people zoo. (Also, you know, gender.)

This week’s episode also marked Gender Reveal’s fifth birthday — assuming you count from our first released episode and not when the podcast was conceived, as it were — which is of course very exciting. Thank you so much to each and every one of YOU for helping us get to that milestone. Literally could not do it without you, in more ways than one!!!

Next week on the show, we’re speaking with trans voice teacher Renée Yoxon, who you might already know from TikTok. (If not, I’m excited for you to meet them!) We also have a bonus episode coming out on Gender Conceal later this month, featuring a friend of the show who actively campaigned for this year’s iconic Word of the Year.

In other patreon news, I just sent out 150 patreon rewards(!) for newish $5+ patrons, and I’ve got 150 left, which I’ll work on as soon as I replenish my supplies. (If you’re a $40+ patron who hasn’t received your rewards yet, I haven’t forgotten about you! Look for a DM from me soonish.)

OK, let’s do Links & Stuff:

That’s it for this week. Here’s your Weekly Rhubarb.

CPWDCS is one of my *other* favorite podcasts, so needless to say, I was excited to an uncool degree to see this one pop up 👍
