Buffy is a really satisfying show to watch in terms of the season-long arcs, the dialogue, and a few really standout episodes. There are flaws (as in any show) but it's especially rewarding to watch first-timers react to, in my experience (second only to shows like The Haunting of Hill House, which have really effective twists in addition to the layering of symbolism, plot beats, etc.). As said above, the first two seasons are very Cheesy Horror Movie and the effect is only intensified by the low budget- but most of these episodes are fun in their own right, and the show really comes in swinging early on in terms of Buffy's character arc, even if others take longer. Seasons 2, 3, and 5 are consistently strong (and IMO season 6 and 7 are also good despite missteps), so I'd advise sticking through season 1 despite its cheese.

Ok, Jason and I watched last night. I cannot tell you how excited I am to watch you guys do this series! While there are some sweeping storyline, most episodes are more episodic with small tie ins. That said, there are episodes dedicated to furthering the plot lines. Season 1 budget was a little rough. It was brought in as a mid-season replacement show so the effects and things are a little rough but I promise it gets so much better. Joss, problematic I know, was so good about making a show you could really tune in any episode and follow it but for the people returning there are little nuggets of dialog that are callbacks. And yeah you have to love Willow. She is just so loveable! Please please please keep this going!

It really does affect the viewing experience for everyone. I remember watching Buffy the vampire Slayer as a teenager. This is one of my favorite TV shows. Watched it more than twice. Just so you know there's also a movie of it. But it's from like the 60s or something like that.

This show is a true classic, SO much TV/storytelling has been influenced by it. It's an amazing blend of camp, heart, wit, style, lore and iconic characters. It's super fun, with lots of endearing 90s cringe, but it gets very emotionally deep as well.

Oh yay! I hope you keep watching this series. One of my favorite series of all time. :) First season is decent but please hold out until at least half way through season 2 when it gets really good! I was a senior in high school when this show came out. Ah, memories. LOL

Guys, I know you just posted this to youtube, but please I beg of you, be careful reading your Buffy comments there or get a mod. The fans are passionate and not all of them are as careful as people here. I just saw a comment there that I already consider a spoiler and it is very annoying. Many don't think certain things are spoilers but that's because most reactors of Buffy know bits and pieces already. I love that you guys went into this without any info! Please be careful both on here and Youtube! Hope you have mods for both.

Guys this literally made my day! I LOVE the early seasons of this show...it is so 90s! Having said that, in the 90s they did do episodic episodes so season 1 does have some duds but that's why I really hope this gets picked up and that you'll get to at least season 2 because that's where you get proper arcs and it is AMAZING. I hope you do not get spoiled including anything about future characters because seeing this fresh is more enjoyable. Thank you for giving this a chance I was smiling ear to ear :)

Oh my sweet summer child. It gets deep. There’s so much lore. There’s so many metaphors for life in this show. Joss is very problematic, but I love where the idea for Buffy came from. He wanted to see the stereotypical damsel in distress be the hero. He made the movie first and that’s just… well it’s the movie. But this show, it’s everything to me. I’ve watched it I don’t know how many times. It’s a comfort and I love seeing women kicking ass while still maintaining their femininity
