Hey friends,
Hope you're all hanging in there. As you may have heard, we somewhat accidentally did a celebrity gender reveal this week.
You may have thought that Gaby Dunn was already out as nonbinary. I, too, thought this when I invited them back onto the show to update their hilariously trans "token cis" Gender Reveal interview from 2018. But, in a fun twist, Gaby used this week's episode to punctuate their announcement that they're now using they/them pronouns exclusively. A journalist at INTO even wrote a whole article about Gaby & my conversation!

In their instagram caption, Gaby wrote, "Give your coming out interview to a trans journalist. Go check me out on the latest episode of @gendereveal for more information and also to hear me cry twice. 🧡"
Honestly, what's a more powerful way to recommend a podcast in Cancer szn than to say "hear me cry twice"??? But if you're not sold yet, I'll add that this ep is getting really great feedback, thanks to Gaby's honesty and vulnerability, and maybe also thanks to me doing a lot of Gender Cheerleading in this conversation. (We all need it sometimes!)

Photo ID: A black t-shirt that says "$5 Misgendering Fee" in red text. The text is heavily embellished with wavy lines and flowers in different colors.
We've got several new designs in the shop this month, and I really recommend taking a peek at the full lineup. But for now, might I introduce you to Meg Potoma's newest hit design???

Photo ID: A mint green fanny pack that says "$5 Misgendering Fee" three times in different colors of text.
The $5 Misgendering Fee concept is actually available in a couple of different designs on several different items, but my favorite is this fanny pack, just for the visual of someone shoving $5 bills into the fanny pack every time someone says the wrong pronouns. Someone please make this happen! (As someone on twitter put it, "I only need 5 people to misgender me to afford this fanny pack," so basically it pays for itself lol.)
I think that's it for this week, since we had that whole extra newsletter with Em's Czech Republic gender dispatch. Stay safe, hang in there, and we'll see you next week, with a new episode featuring our friend LaTisha Rico.
Here's your weekly Rhubarb, taken by bff of the show Zee Griffler.

PS: Speaking of bff of the show Zee Griffler, I finally got to see Zee for the first time since the 2019 Gender Reveal live show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's photographic evidence that we're even cuter than before.
