Meet our new producer! (Plus, last day for merch!)

Hey friends,

Hope you're all hanging in there. I held yesterday's newsletter until today so that I could make a very special announcement: we officially hired a new associate producer!

I'm excited for the podcast to sound better, I'm excited to have another set of ears on episodes, and I'm so excited for another perspective and vision to help us shape the future of Gender Reveal. I'm also excited to try to have a few boundaries on work, such as occasionally taking time for myself and perhaps even taking weekends mostly off(!).

I couldn't do any of this without YOU, PERSONALLY, being generous enough to financially support this podcast. Our producer's salary is 100% Patreon-funded — you're all job creators! (lol.) But, sincerely, thank you so so so so much.

Without further ado... meet Julia!

Julia Llinas Goodman is a nonbinary, Latinx writer and producer focused on the intersections between identity and public health. They love thinking about the ways trans folks create and maintain community in our lives. In addition to Gender Reveal, Julia works as an associate producer on the science podcast Flash Forward and co-hosts the feminist podcast Season of the Bitch. They love spicy food and spicy takes.

Today is Julia's first day working with me/Gender Reveal, and I'm in the middle of emailing them the secrets about our very weird new season that's about to launch. Speaking of which, aren't we supposed to drop a new episode in a week??? Guess I should start editing, oops.

OK, but before I go: don't forget that today is the last day of May merch, including HOT TRANS SUMMER shirts, I DON'T KNOW ANY STRAIGHT PEOPLE tank tops, TRANS FOLKS ARE SACRED stickers, and our full line of commemorative Trans Day of Snack souvenirs. Get it before it's gone at bit.ly/gendermerch.

That's it for last week. Here's your weekly Rhubarb, once again stolen from my roommate.

Thank you once again for making it possible to hire Julia!!!!!! This truly goes above and beyond anything I ever expected for this podcast. Y'all are truly amazing.

xoxoxo,
Yr resident gender detective
