Election Day Survival Kit: playlist! animal pics! tiny bonus ep!

Hey friends,

Hope you're all hanging in there on this day of all days. 

Apologies that I missed last week's newsletter. I have lost track of how time and space work. Will try to get a second newsletter out this week, but also, does anyone want another email to deal with right now?!?

Anyway, if you check your podcast feeds, you will see a Gender Reveal episode called "BONUS: Election Day Check-In," which consists of me sort of whispering in my closet for what might be one four-minute run-on sentence. Note to self: don't record unscripted bonus episodes within 1 minute of getting out of bed.

Here are the points that I tried to make, with perhaps mixed success:

• Today is a lot.
• More trans people are running for office now than ever before, which is exciting because I think trans people deserve power and also meaningful representation. 
• That said, political representation doesn't fix everything and this election certainly doesn't fix everything and may not fix anything.
• No matter what, our communities will be there for each other. We are very good at community support and mutual aid. We know how to help each other survive. 
• Call Trans Lifeline or Trevor Project if you need. Check in with a loved one or log onto the Gender Reveal slack (bit.ly/genderslack2). We're here for you.
• Drink some water and be gentle with yourself.
• I love you I love you I love you.

Here are a few other nice things I have to share with you today.

A listener was listening to the podcast while playing Rollercoaster Tycoon or whatever that game is called, and they made a Gender Reveal roller coaster?! Not even sure what that means but wow I love it so much. The content we deserve.

I invited people on twitter to share the last thing that brought them joy, and it's resulted in some very good content including (but not limited to) dozens of very cute animal photos. Share yours here or in the comments of this post. :) 

(One of the last things that brought me joy was hardstyling with the Mothman, which is the banner photo for this newsletter.)
