Hey everyone,
Boy howdy, everything's just really absurdly bad, huh?
Well, not everything. Someone sent me that meme (above) that made me laugh and also feel v flattered.

Also I went to the farmers market and bought these flowers for my roommate after they were very sweet and let me cry all over them the day before.
Also also, Jon Bois just announced that he's releasing a sequel to 17776 in installments for the next month, and I'm losing my entire mind. If you haven't experienced 17776 before, I extremely encourage you to set a few hours aside and do the thing. I just read the first chapter again when I went to retrieve the link and now I am feeling many many emotions again! It's so good! Also there's some good gender in it!

Also Also Also (is the name of Eden's band and also...), we are having a tiny summer again here (thnx, climate change!?) and i know i should be mad but i'm just so happy to have some outside time with friends. yesterday i climbed a hill with my v good friend and we only talked about depressing shit and national collapse like 60% of the time.
OK, so. There's flowers, and friends, and weird experimental internet fiction, and outside, and memes. What not-absurdly-bad things are in your life right now? Please tell me.

Another not-terrible thing is that Beth Easton and I had this exchange:
Beth: If I made a "no cis vampires" design would you want it for the merch shop?
Tuck: Haha what does it MEAN
Beth: They live in Transylvania
Beth: So there are no cis vampires
Tuck: HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

So now there are No Cis Vampires shirts and stickers and posters at bit.ly/gendermerch, if you're into that sort of thing. Available thru 10/27.
(Speaking of merch, you've got two days left to use promo code MYBAD for 10% off anything and everything.)
Otherwise, not too much of an ~exciting~ update for you, but I really am personally excited by all of the catching-up we've been doing (it's actually a "we" now! I have some folks helping here and there!) on the Gender Reveal front. I'm caught up on $5 patreon rewards (still 41 thank you notes to write, though; sorry, $10+ folks!), we're getting closer to getting caught up on episode transcripts, and I'm finally working on booking our first few guests of the season. It's happening, slowly but surely.
Are you OK? I'm so worried about all of us but maybe I'm projecting or maybe I listened to too much of It Could Happen Here or maybe everything is just actually very bad. But I'm glad we're still here together. I love you.

My friend who climbed up the hill with me also painted this absolutely incredible portrait of Rhubarb and surprised me with it and it's the greatest gift of all time and so that's another thing that is good and not bad.
(Ruby keeps knocking it off the shelf but we can't have everything, I guess.)

So, there's your weekly Rhubarb. Stay safe or whatever we do these days.
xo,
Yr resident gender detective
PS: Ruby just hopped up and typed "iokui" so that's her message to you.
