Oh my god, Dark is one of the most brilliant shows ever created. The twists! The turns! Holy SHIT. Worth a watch for sure but make sure you watch it in german with the english subtitles. The emotions in the dub do NOT match the acting. :D

I love hearing about new people finding Firefly. Serenity is one of those movies that I can re-watch any time I'm bored and still have a great time watching. The one good thing I take away from its cancellation is that I can binge watch Firefly in a weekend. I've done that twice now but always look forward to seeing new reactions to it.

We prbly will at some point. It lost to JJK on the polls but it's still gonna be watched at some point

There’s a number of shows that are better/as good that you might wanna check out. Dark is very cleverly written, but the main enthralling thing about the show is it’s puzzle. The reveals and connections are exciting and the casting is superb (in terms of aesthetics), and the acting is fine, but it feels flat in its overall execution. I think it’s because I am American and foreign shows sometimes don’t hit the same way as compared to the native speakers due to our priming by Hollywood to have a certain level of oomph to tv and movies. Hollywood has a certain heightened sense of emotion in its productions and the German auteurship falls a bit flat in that department. It’s partly why Stranger Things (which this show gets compared to a lot even though there are strong distinctions) has caught on, as a show, far more, due to the “feeling” it emanates, as opposed to the “more” flat German tone. —————— [As an overall TV show, something like Watchmen is a perfect season of television, assuming you have seen the Snyder extended Watchmen and you also know the events and distinctions of the movie to the graphic novel. Linden off, the creator of the show, understands Watchmen extremely critically, and it shows in his excellent writing of the show and how it connects and makes sense as a sequel to the original graphic novel by Alan Moore. You don’t even need to read the original work, but can watch a YouTube video summarizing the differences between the graphic novel and movie.]

Yes please! These are the 2 shows that have the more exciting reactions. Dark can be even greater, but it really depends on the reactors style and discussions afterwards, etc. tbh, not sure if Dark would suit James/NTB/Nick as much. And I also think that while Dark is a more (even far?) superior written show to Stranger Things (and many other top-tier shows, not just ST) but Dark lacks the charm/charisma/nostalgia that Stranger Things has. It often feels more like a really cool puzzle to be wowed by then a very exciting TV show. ———- Anyhow, I can’t say any of the 4 shows are disappointing. They are all great.

Personally, I think every one of these should be on a future watch list so then it wouldn't really matter which order they were watched if we'll get to see them all eventually. However, my sentimental favorite is Firefly and then you could watch the movie Serenity after the one season show.

I can think of maybe 5 or 6 moments where there’s nudity and 99% of those moments are very, very brief and non-gratuitous

It took me years to watch Firefly. I kept hearing great things about it but never got around to it. It was only a few months ago I decided to watch the entire series and the follow up movie Serenity. I definitely understand why fans were outraged it was cancelled and why Whedon made the film to end the series off. It was awesome!
