Friends! Boy howdy, do I hope you're all hanging in there. It's wild out there, huh? In the words of one of our lost internet oracles of 2012...

Anyway, last week was full of both professional and personal stuff that I tbh don't feel comfortable talking about, but the result is that I didn't get the podcast together by Monday. And instead of rushing to double up on episodes, I'm just going to... give myself a week without a show! (Tempted to say "a week off" but that implies that I haven't been working this entire time lol.)
Whenever I apologize for not getting an episode up on time (I am, by the way, extremely sorry about that), I worry that I come across as a tad grandiose. Like, in the scheme of things, who really cares if there's a Gender Reveal episode this week?? But I'm extremely aware that every single one of you is PAYING ACTUAL LEGAL CURRENCY for me to do this, my JOB, which is to make you podcasts. So I don't want to skip out on my job! It feels bad! (As opposed to skipping out on a corporate job, which tbh would feel v good.)
All that is to say, I'm chugging along, doing my best, just as all of you are. And I appreciate your patience and support and kindness more than I can ever express. (Whoops, getting grandiose again.)

Although there's no Gender Reveal episode this week, you can hear your favorite gender detective on two very different podcasts. The first is a live Oregon Public Broadcasting news program called Think Out Loud, in which I pretended to be an expert on national politics and also the corona virus for some reason — basically, they book guests before they pick the topics, but yes I agree that it makes no sense — and managed to slip in an opportunity to drag Mike Pence. Check out their March 6 News Roundtable if you're into that very specific content.

The other podcast, which frankly makes a lot more sense for me to appear on, is Masc4Masc, a show by two fun cis gay guys in Salt Lake City. While the interview does include some Gender 101 stuff, Trent & Chris were very thoughtful interviewers, and I had a great time on their show. You can listen to that here.

Just a reminder that Surf Don't TERF shirts and tank tops are only available now through Saturday, and you definitely want to get one! I just got mine in the mail and it is, confirmed, extremely very good.

(Mine looks like this.)
We've already raised more than $130 for Girls Rock Camp Toronto's new trans-inclusive programming, hell yeah! (Learn more in Niko's episode if you haven't listened yet.)
Teespring is telling me that the code "MARCHFLASH" will get you 10% off all purposes through today, Tuesday, so go ahead and give that a try ASAP if you're into it. It's all at bit.ly/gendermerch.
That's going to do it for this week's newsletter, I think! Thank you for being so deeply good. I'll see you next week. Here's your weekly Rhubarb.

xo,
Yr resident gender detective
