🎉 The Big News 🎉

Friends! Hello! 

I hope that you've all been hanging in there through the holidays. This time of year can be rough for so, so many reasons, but I hope you're finding some kind of joy and acceptance and peace and validation wherever you may find yourself. 

Before the year ends, I wanted to thank you all one last time (in 2019) for your endless patience and incredibly generous support. Whether you've been with Gender Reveal since the beginning (or even the Smash Everything days), or whether you just joined us this week, I'm deeply grateful to you, and so incredibly honored that you choose to spend finite resources on our little DIY trans podcast.

Which brings me to today's news, which you may have noticed me alluding to continually for the last several months................

I quit my job! 

Well, I put in my notice, anyway. I'm still there for a bit. But starting in late January, I'll be a full-time professional trans(!!?!?!).

How does a professional trans make money? Great question. My primary income source will be this very Patreon! So! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LETTING ME LITERALLY LIVE THE DREAM.

What that means, of course, is that I will have more time to focus on Gender Reveal and its many side projects, including the grant, our rad merch shop, our transcript database, and, yes, patreon rewards. (Thank you again for your patience, by the way! You're perfect angels and I don't deserve you!) 

However, I definitely can't live off this Patreon alone (yet), so I'll also be looking for education and consulting work through my new company, Sylveon Consulting, which I co-founded with a very very rad friend of mine. Hit us up if you or your coworkers/etc could benefit from equity workshops, trans-inclusivity consulting, podcasting tutorials, or anything else you can dream up for us.

I'm also hoping to snag some freelance writing gigs, but tbh that's more for fun than for money — pay rates haven't changed meaningfully in 150 years.

OK, that's the news for now! I am so beyond thrilled to finally let y'all know why I dropped off the map for a bit. I was just wrapping up a bunch of loose ends so I could move onto this next chapter of my life! And I'm still wrapping those up, to be honest, but I'll be freeeeeeee so so so so soon. 

Thank you so much for your support this year. It really does mean the whole world to me. I can't wait for you to hear the new season of Gender Reveal so so soon!
