Molly's New Biz!! New "Femmes" Shirt! Chicago!

Friends! Hi!

So incredibly sorry for missing last week’s newsletter. I was at Third Coast International Audio Festival with a gaggle of perfect trans and queer folks. Here I am getting ready to yell at 800 members of the radio industry about being more inclusive of trans folks...

(Buy the shirt here from our friend Beth.)

...and here I am after only getting four hours of sleep each night for almost a full week, lmao.

I stayed in a hotel room with two very good and kind and cute friends, one of which reads this newsletter (hi, Arlie!) and the other one who doesn’t but that’s fine I guess :p

And speaking of that boy who doesn’t read the newsletter………. we started an official consulting company together! We’re excited to educate folks about creating trans-inclusive work and improving equity generally. Please check out Sylveon Consulting and recommend us to any friends, colleagues, or other folks who might benefit from our services. Thanks so so so much!

Don't forget that Saturday, November 23, is the date of the first Gender Reveal live show! The show is taking place on the Portland State University campus at 2:30 p.m. We'll have multiple special guests (including familiar faces and new ones) and the show is completely FREE to attend! See you there!

In merch news, the excellent Sean Martinez — who seems to have coined the phrase “Femmes Can Be Thems” — has designed a special “femmes can be thems” t-shirt series for us. You can grab these rad shirts in three skin tones and a wide variety of colors, or opt for a tote bag. It's all in our merch store!

50% of proceeds will go to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, and the other half goes to Sean. You have less than 30 days to purchase, so don’t forget!

In other news, our fall grant is officially closed to applicants. A team of eight amazing judges are currently sorting through nearly 300 applications to determine the five(?) winners — we’re hoping to announce those winners by the end of the month, and we’ll keep you posted on our progress.

Oh gosh, speaking of people who don't read this newsletter, lol, my partner got their name and gender legally changed and I'm really really excited for them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though the clerk deadnamed them a zillion times because like, apparently they don't teach the clerks not to deadname people when they're literally paying for a legal name change?! I don't get it.

Here we are celebrating outside the courthouse, yes I am dating myself, don't @ me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, last but not least, Friday was Rhubarb's adoptaversary. We have lived together for one whole year! Happy adoptaversary, Ruby!!!!!!

That's it for this week. I love you so much. Hang in there.

XOXO,
Yr resident gender detective

PS: I'm still making my way through Patreon rewards — I think I have about 20 left to send? Should hopefully get them all out this week, so keep an eye out and let me know if your rewards don't show up! You're the best.
