Checking in: Episodes 1-4

Hey, Patreon pals! Have you been listening to the show? What do you think so far? (No, seriously, we'd love to know.)

If you haven't subscribed to the show yet, here's what you've missed:

1. Our famous Gender Vocab Glossary, which explains the differences between sex and gender, among other things.

2. A conversation with Nicholas Cummins (left) of the band Fits, in which we talked about the dangers of queer idols and the freedoms of riding a bike in a dress. (Also, which genders should you invite to your event?)

3. A chat with Carlos the Rollerblader, a stand-up comic, community organizer, local celebrity, and advice hotline founder. Carlos explores how their queerness intersects with their blackness, and shares how their aunt—a supermodel, academic, and world-class bowler—taught them about gender roles and fluidity. (We also learn why they're called Carlos the Rollerblader.)

4. A conversation with Eden Rohatensky, also know as Ron, Eden the Cat, or Also Also Also. A musician, writer and computer programmer, Eden shares their experiences as a non-binary person in tech, including calling out a former employer for sexual harassment in the #MeToo era. (Also, what pronouns do French non-binary folks use?)

Coming up next week, we've got an echo-y but extremely important chat with Leila Haile and Maya Vivas of Portland's Ori Gallery. Can't wait to hear what you think! <3

hey molly! this has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts and I'm jazzed every week for it to come out. us nb folks don't have a lot of voices out there, let alone points of reference. our identities pretty much defy those things, and conversations and personal experiences are a great way to explore that. the diversity of guests on just these few episodes (posting now after the Joey Alison Sayers ep) is amazing too. I love it! I keep fantasizing about being a guest. just in case you're ever hard up for one. ~tanuki (they/them)

I love hearing about and from the different facets of gender. It's been really helpful for me in figuring out myself. Or at the least being more comfortable with myself :)
