Haunting of Hill House ep. 6 UNEDITED REACTION (Early Access)

This episode was one of my favorites. It was an expert showcase in film and television. I can't wait to see how it all ends!! Enjoy!

I love how this episode leans on every previous episode. You have to come into it already really truly caring for all of them and, at the same time, knowing each of their faults. It’s BRILLIANT

Yeah I agree. I just think sometimes with the idea of everyone needing therapy there becomes a bit of a victim mentality and that can be dangerous. People lean on that as an excuse and a crutch. Not many people due, I just think it’s a risk/ result sometimes

Yeah of course man!!! I love that kinda stuff

Timothy Hutton is AMAZING

It just meant that none of her siblings ever truly saw her. She was back ground noise for a lot of them and she never felt that they truly listened to her. Luke would be the closest that would listen, but he was too wrapped up in his addiction.

I also think sometimes especially as adults when we are dealing with so much of our own day to day crap and trying desperately to keep a lid on our own demons that we actually do see others struggles but we don’t want to see them. If we acknowledge them then we have to do something. My big conclusion after this past crazy year is everyone needs therapy. There is no way that anyone has made it through life unscathed. As the oldest of 5 daughters Steve’s reaction seeing Nell really got me.

The end of the ep still gives me goosebumps and I've seen this show prob 6 times

PS. I think this show is extraordinary and am enjoying your reactions. There are some Easter eggs from the book and the 1963 film in the show (including one cast member). Let me know if you are interested and I will point out the ones that I have noticed.

In case no one responded, Hugh is played by two different actors. Younger Hugh is played by Henry Thomas (of “ET” fame) and older Hugh is played by Oscar winner Timothy Hutton.

Yeah, I want to talk more about that at the end of it all, but I completely agree

I always felt like the ending of that episode was so damn sad. "None of you could see me." That is such a sad phrase and so often the issue with suicidal people. We look, but we don't see and sometimes the people who feel that way give no signs on the outside, nothing that would indicate that they are struggling.
