As a greek myself, I know that at some parts the depiction of some things was exaggerating, but the story is actually accurate, even the lines. Specially the quote about ''...here we lie.'' is actually a written passage in ancient greek at that place on the ground of Thermopylae. All the western civilization actually owes to these men because they gave enough time to the rest of the greeks to assemble and win the Persians later. So yeah, as brutal the Spartans were, they did the one thing it had to be done to save the greek spirit/thought, thus the future western civilization. Remember them... Μολών Λαβέ. (come and get them)
