Mockingjay Part 2 UNEDITED REACTION (Early Access)

I was Team gale for the first to books/movies, but with mockingjay I just thought katniss should be single because she was so broken. I still don’t like Peeta. He’s simpy and I don’t think 2 people who have been broken down so much should be together. Also, in the books Katniss looks for Gale first then realizes that he went to district 2 then she gets jealous thinking that he’s probably there kissing another girl. She is alone then Peeta was the only one still there. To me, that was like he was just the only one there so she went with it.

I love johana it lightly touches on her back story in that jabber jay scene in catching fire when she says “ they can’t hurt me, there’s no one left that I love.” And there’s a hint to it in mockingjay part 1 as to how they died, when finnick in telling the capitol secrets and says Snow sells your body to the people of the capitol, or they’ll kill someone you love. Johana refused to sleep witH the capitol people, so snow killed her entire family. It’s easy to understand why she’s so jaded.

THANK YOU! Your comments about Gale & Peeta especially. For me, there was no "love triangle" - there was only one person who thought about her and her alone and knew that no matter what his feelings were towards her, he was never selfish about it or asked her questions she was very clearly not ready for. Neither were "perfect" and towards the end, it's obvious Gale was out of the picture for good, but even if he wasn't - they weren't on the same wavelength about a lot of things and it felt like he "expected" to be with her eventually because they'd known each other for so long. Gale was a good guy for the most part and I never hated him - it's just some of his motives felt selfish whereas I never got that with Peeta. And as for them complaining about Peeta being there in the Capitol with them and the comments about leaving him behind or why was he there - that wasn't in any way his fault and what were they supposed to do? Call someone to come pick him up? lol Anyway - Peeta-hate gets to me! Even though most people understand at the end there's no other way it could have ended.

Yeah. I mean we were down on peeta as much as he shouldn’t have been there. I just think they were ignoring how much of a risk he was, whether it was his fault or not. While I “rooted” for Gale for a while I think the way it ends up is perfect and really the only way it could’ve gone.

Great job as always guys! Hubby and I finished watching it a bit ago and yeah they do the love triangle perfectly. While I do not like Gale and am thrilled she chose Peeta for me it it is about two things. 1. Peeta does everything for KATNISS while Gale does everything for HIMSELF. I know that sounds like I think he is selfish but I don't. I just think his motivations are very different. I think before being in the hunger games he was the perfect choice for Katniss but after....not at all. I don't think he would ever understand what she had been through. Peeta volunteered the second time around and specifically asked Effie to make his gold a medallion with Gale, Prim and her mom because he knew she would need the reminder at some point what she was fighting for. Think about that and what that says about him. Gale would say things and admit he knew she would kiss him because he was in pain. Whether he meant to or not, he was manipulating her. All of that I could have gotten past but the idea of his about the delayed explosion leading to Prim's death? Thats number 2. That one I couldn't get past. I love the finality in the way she looks at him when she says goodbye. They both know it's over. I get why you guys were down on Peeta for awhile there but just remember he was not in his right mind. Coin knew it. She basically sent him to kill Katniss. Speaking of Coin I also love the scene where they are voting on the symbolic hunger games. Katniss looks right at Coin knowing she was behind the bombs that killed Prim and she votes yes...for Prim. She knew exactly what she wanted to do. Lastly F.....f.f.f.f.f.f.f. I could go for days. I ADORED finnick. It was funny when I first met him I thought I would hate him and yet he ends up being a trusted and integral part of her group. He brought light and hope and love. He is my favorite character and I hate that they killed him off. Breaks my heart every time I see it. Great job guess. Watching Fantastic Beasts tomorrow.

this was my comment hopefully it stays this time: i'm so glad you guys loved this ending! i think it honestly has one of the most realistic endings in any series like it's such an accurate portrayal of grief and trauma and the fact that there was no one, singular "evil person" that needed to be defeated in order to stop the horrors of the capital. it basically shows that the entire system is corrupt. it also shows that there comes a point in war when both sides have committed so many atrocities, whether with good intentions or not, that it's hard to find where the line between wrong and right stands? like what katniss was saying in the beginning of the movie: "i guess there are no rules about what someone can do to another person anymore." i feel like that sort of sets the tone for the movie where in the end, you realize that the delayed bomb is something so horrific it's hard to differentiate between that action and those of the capitol because so many innocent people were killed. it really shows who coin was the whole time. i also love the ending, where peeta and katniss are finally able to find peace and love with each other. and, with the hunger games over, katniss was able to decide for herself whether she wanted children or not without having to worry about what would happen when they reached the age of 12-18. and she clearly did want kids, i think it's easy to see that katniss is very much a nurturing sort of person, especially with regards to prim, so i do think her choice to have children was because she loved to protect and nourish. without prim there for her to take care of, she must have wondered what her purpose was, y'know? i also think it's good that it was peeta that katniss chose in the end. not because she didn't love gale (whether as a friend/family/something else) but because peeta made her a better person. i feel like her and gale were far too similar, there was no balancing each other out in terms of anger and impulsivity, etc. peeta is grounding for katniss which i think is beautiful. i'm also so glad that the last line in the series is the same as it is in the book: "there are much worse games to play." reading that is so impactful, and seeing it on screen with peeta and their kids living their life in peace is even more-so!

On the makeup in their disguises... I think it was a compromise with the visual element. In the book, they were heavily made up and costumed to the point of being unrecognizable. But if you're taking the trouble to have J-Law and Liam, you want them recognizable to the audience. Plot hole be damned.

Great reaction series I loved it!!!! I also like the ending where Katniss Shoots Coin. She wasn't going to shoot Snow because he already was dying. Also, the cat scene always makes me tear up, it's a well done scene.
