Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 (part 2)

Sorry about the screw up guys. I was up all night filming the Snyder Cut, so I'm a bit tired. Here is Part 2 of the full length of part 2. Enjoy!

Oh no, you didn't seem angry :) Sorry if I implied that. Have a good day.

DreadKyller

So what you're saying is, Voldemort was going DOWN either way lol. 🤣🤣 and no worries, I apologize if I came across angry. I wasn't I just hadn't had the blood thing laid out that way before. And totally agree about wanting them to have all the info. I hope they do what another person I follow is doing and reacting to the audio books.

Midgey_M

No problem at all, again I want to emphasize that I'm not trying to say you're wrong or should change your opinion, I just wanted to make sure they heard both sides. Whether or not the blood played a role or not, I do believe you are correct about everything else. At that point Harry was the master of death, though he did drop the stone so I'm not sure actually? The combination of the want belonging to Harry and not wanting to kill it's master, plus having been in possession of all 3 deathly hallows, plus the fact that he's a horcrux, is already a lot of things stacked against Voldemort, even if the blood doesn't play a role.

DreadKyller

I agree completely about your stone thoughts and I totally understand about disappearing patreon comments lol. I had my usual essay where I brought up some of your points particularly about the stone but it got deleted and I condensed it when I retyped it out. I had never thought about the reason Snape was so brutal to Neville and that completely makes sense! Harry's wand defending him was part of my original response and I agree with the theory that it was acting as if Harry was attacking himself. As to the blood protection, you have obviously given this a lot of thought. I will have to go back and reread the books looking for those clues. I reread them several times a year but since I know the stories so well it is easy to gloss over or read what I expect to instead of new theories. I don't know that my opinion will change but you have given me something new to consider, thanks! 😁 Also sorry if my original comment appeared to jump around, I didn't take notes this time and was trying to remember everything so I may not have fully explained my thoughts.

Dude as I was editing all the movies I noticed details like that. I did see Snape deflect the spells. SUPER cool detail. DEFINITELY down to react to Band of Brothers. Seen parts of it and it looks well.

I had a usual comment but it isn't showing up anymore. 😥 I love that you were nerding out on these. Now you understand our love. As to the Dumbledore explanation here is a shortened version. There were three siblings Albus then Aberforth and then Ariana. As a young girl Ariana was attacked by three muggles boys, their father killed the boys and was sent to Azkaban. Albus was friends with Grindlewald (at that time) and after their mother died he began resenting having to stay home and care for his siblings instead of reaching for greatness. This led to a fight in which Ariana was hit by a stray curse and died. No one knows whose curse hit her but that moment changed Albus. Ariana had worshipped Albus while Aberforth had lived for Ariana. Dumbledore realized seeking power only had the ability to hurt those you love. Aberforth never forgave Albus. As to the question of how Harry survived I personally think it is two fold. First of all, in my opinion it has nothing to do with blood. In books 1-4 Voldemort couldn't touch Harry due to his blood protection however when Voldemort had Wormtail conjur his body, they used Harry's blood meaning the blood protection was no longer an issue. He proves this immediately by saying I can touch you now. I think the two reasons Harry lives are first Voldemort killed the horocrux within Harry and Harry, owning the three hallows was the master of death, so once Voldemort killed him, Harry chose to come back. Now Dumbledore never intended Harry to have the elder wand. So he didn't expect Harry to be the Master of Death, and the resurrection stone doesn't bring back a whole person, only a shadow of them. So in my opinion Dumbledore just gave it to comfort Harry. There are so many great character evolutions throughout this franchise that you really see come to a head in this one. Percy Weasley shows up for the battle which may seem stupid to even question but in the books he has been working in the Ministry since book 4 and after book 5 barely speaks to his family, considering them traitors to the ministry. His showing up to fight alongside his family is huge! Also you truly see that the Malfoy family no longer gives a crap about Voldemort. Lucius tries to get him to call off the attack, Narcissa lies to Voldemort about Harry being alive (that took serious guts) and all they care about is protecting Draco. There was a deleted scene not from the books that I thought really showed Dracos arc and it is that he tosses Harry his wand at the end to help Harry defeat Dumbledore. I am glad they left it out as it is not cannon but it was still interesting. Lastly I wanted to point out two things I don't think anyone else has mentioned. One Dame Maggie Smith was going through chemo for cancer during this and yet she still put in one hell of a performance! She is amazing. Second go back and watch the scene where McGonagall fights Snape. Not only does Snape not fight back, he actually deflects her spells to hit the Carrows (the two death eaters behind him) instead and then just before he jumps out the window, you can see him stop at each body briefly as he collects their wands to prevent them from doing further damage! Bad ass! He is far from being my favorite character in the series but I don't think Snape is evil. He is vindictive and mean but there are always two sides. James and Sirius bullied him and he goes on to bully Harry and his friends. A bit pedantic but somewhat understandable. So glad you guys liked it! Side note, during Wonder Woman you guys talked about period piece movies. Hubby and I highly recommend the miniseries Band of Brothers. It is based on actual events and battles during WWII. The series follows the 101st Airbourne Easy Comany from training prior to D day all the way through the end of the war. It is so amazing to watch and there are little interviews with real soldiers from that unit talking about each episode. Seriously, watch it. Edit: I saw a comment that apparently got deleted as it is not showing here but I wanted to respond anyway, it was referring to the blood protection. Harry couldn't be KILLED by Voldy as long as he lived with the Durseleys however the events in this movie take place after he has turned 17 and is no longer protected by that. He can no longer call the Dursleys home and therefore the blood is no longer an issue either way. We all have our own theories and ideas. For the blood protection MY opinion which is no better or worse than anyone else's was that the blood protection was two fold. It protected Harry from voldy completely (part 1 and broken in the 4th book) and protected Harry from Voldemort killing him (part 2 and ended when he no longer lived at the Dursleys, occurring when he turned 17)

Midgey_M

Lol hell yeah!!!

James says "OMG, I'm F** nerding out right now". And then he says "I just f** love movies, and I love talking about movies because I want to MAKE movies". And I'm watching this like "Are you my twin or what?" hahahahaha.

Bexflix

Hell yeah man! It’s been u from the start. U were one of the first. I really appreciate that. Thanks for coming along for the ride

Dudes, great job, thoroughly enjoyable for the whole journey. Keep up the great work and I'll keep watching.

JIM SCHMITZ

Dude that was such a good moment

Such a great reaction! I want to say so much but because you guys are going to read the books i will just wait! The only thing i will say is that the only "always" i will remember in a good way is from Lily :)

Caroline

So he had no idea he could even go back? Wtf that makes it even better!!!

No, Harry used the stone to see his parents, Sirius and Lupin one last time before he got killed. Dumbledore thought that would give Harry a little bit more courage

Wait so it's not the stone??

This Harry Potter Reaction Series has been great. I enjoyed every reaction.

It isn't explained in the movie but the reason Harry could come back to life is because Voldemort used his blood to resurrect in Goblet of Fire, so Lily's protective enchantment still lived making it impossible for Voldemort to kill him

Damn that would’ve been sick!

Honestly the only disappointment I have in this movie is that they don’t showcase how badass Bellatrix actually was in the battle. For starters she’s the one killed Tonks (Remus’s wife), their relationship is fleshed out more in the books but Bellatrix is Tonk’s aunt. Also during the 2nd part of the battle, She was the last Death Eater standing and had a bad ass 3 v 1 of her vs Hermione, Ginny, and Luna in which she’s winning and almost kills Ginny which prompts Molly to step in and they have their fight where Bellatrix ends up dying.

Medusa

Dude I was!! But I didn’t wanna say cause I was like, “am I supposed to know?” 😂😂 thanks

Idk if you guys noticed but remember when Luna's father said that the person who owns the Deathly Hallows, makes a master of death. Harry owns all the three Deathly Hallows. The cloak of invisibility, the ressurection stone and the elder wand. Also if you're curious which Weasley died, It's Fred.

Bomelo

Also, that's why Dumbledore asked, "Lily? After all this time?" and Snape said, "Always." Dumbledore recognized that it was her patronus and was asking Snape if he was still in love with Lily, and of course Snape said yes.

SoapyTurtles

A person's patronus can change for one of three reasons: they suffer a loss, if their personality changes drastically, or if they fall deeply in love. For example, James Potter's patronus was a stag, like Harry's, and because Lily loved James so much, hers changed to a doe. Then because Snape loved Lily, his patronus changed to a doe as well. It doesn't necessarily mean that Lily herself is manifested in the patronus, but more so the memory of her. And the clip of Harry seeing the doe in the forest is from Deathly Hallows Part 1 when Harry finds the sword of Gryffindor in the frozen lake. Snape, who had hidden a fake sword in Bellatrix's Gringotts vault, needed a way to get Harry the sword without revealing himself. So, he gave Harry the sword in the middle of the night and had his patronus lead the way. Hope this helps! (:
