Great job as always! Hubby and I watched last night. I was gonna bring up the dogs being the tributes but someone already did so I won't go into any details there. I love the way the film shows dark and Grey and colorless in the districts and then this explosion of color in the capital. Effie is an idiot at first but I really like her growth through the series where she understands Katniss more and more. Cinna is my heart. I love him from the getgo because he actually shows that unlike the rest of the capital people he understands the tribute perspective. I also love that you just see but it isn't talked about much in the movie that the districts especially 12 is so poor they can't always eat and in the capital no one is starving. Also wanted to clarify that in addition to your age increasing the number of times your name is entered into the drawing for the hunger games, you can also take additional rations in exchange for entering more times. Can you imagine? Having to decide to feed your family by potentially killing your kid or being the kid you can feed your family with your life. It's just horrifying. Anyway, looking forward to the rest!

I agree. I remember especially the mutts being disappointing in the movies. They were much more disturbing in the books. I think Catching Fire really ups the stakes tho, so I’m excited to react to that.

Thanks for the great reaction! They tried really hard with the movies, even though I miss some important parts from the books. Maybe you are interested in the extra informations: 1) The dogs are the fallen tributes which were turned into a mutations, what makes it even more traumatising than it already was. 2) Peeta looses his leg at the end of the first movie and gets an artifical one 3) Katniss becomes deaf on one ear after the explosion at the pile of resources But I'm really happy that you both liked it and can't wait to see the second movie which is my favorite! Keep up the good work =)

Yeah. Completely agree. I really like Catching Fire. That’s probably my favorite book and movie for sure, but I agree, that ending moment is all pretty powerful.

thanks so much for this reaction! i'm so glad ninetailedbrush liked the movie and i'm so excited to see your reactions to the other three! (catching fire is probably my favorite one) one of my favorite parts is when cato's holding peeta at the edge of the cornucopia with the mutts below them and you can truly see how desperate the games made him in the end, when he realizes that there aren't really any winners in the games. like only the capitol is truly the winner. i think it was a crazy good way for the audience to feel this sort of pity/sadness for a character that was so easy to hate throughout the movie if you know what i mean? like you understand that they're all just kids/teenagers, even the brainwashed tributes from district 1 and 2. for me i always felt like it really drove home the whole "who is the real enemy?" thing that the hunger games represents.

The Talk Show scene is such a good scene. Watching it in the theatres made me feel like I was actually there.

Not sure if you noticed but at the end, Peeta was pointing to Caitos hand, telling her to shoot there

OMG YOU'RE WATCHING THE HUNGER GAMES? My absolute favorite series I watched all four of them in the movie theatre and bought all the movies when they came out and read all the books. I'm super excited.
