Last year we produced one of our favorite FAA Collective videos with Director of the summer Figurative Sculpture workshop, Eran Webber, in which Eran explains how to sculpt the mouth in clay. This year, Eran is back with a brand new demo!
Filmed in class at the FAA Florence campus during a morning demo for summer sculpture students, Eran demonstrates how to construct the eye on a portrait. This informative live demonstration is essential to understanding the topography of the eye before the student attempts to sculpt. To quote former Director of the FAA’s Sculpture Program Robert Bodem, “While working be aware that when you are physically manipulating your work, it must be in response to a question you have observed and answered.”

More about Eran:
Born in 1980 in Israel. The grandchild of a realist painter, Eran Webber grew up on a kibbutz along the Carmel Coast.
His artistic training began in high school as well as evening courses in Tel Aviv. In 2007 He moved to Florence, Italy to study the fundamentals of classical figurative art and began sculpting at the Accademia di Belle Arti. Later that year Eran was accepted to The Florence Academy of Art (FAA) sculpture program.
After graduating in 2010, Eran has remained on the FAA Faculty as Principal Instructor in the Sculpture Program from 2010-2013, and returns each summer to direct the Figurative Sculpture Workshop and other scheduled sculpture workshops during the year.
Today he is teaching from his Atelier in Moshav Habonim and Tel Aviv University,Israel.
His Sculptures and drawings can be found in 'Galerie Michael' - LA, 'Frilli Gallery' - Florence, and in private collections throughout Europe and the U.S.
