An installment in The Process related content featured on The FAA Collective
Dear Patrons,
Thank you for your support! We received such wonderful feedback on the first part The Process w/ Vitaliy Shtanko that by popular demand we are releasing the second part of this series early! This video features The Florence Academy of Art graduate and faculty member Vitaliy Shtanko continuing with a portrait began in the first part of the series.
In Pt. 2 you will see how Vitaliy reinforces the drawing of the painting by mapping in compressed values of shadow and light, how he models structural planes using limited/compressed mid-tones, and how he focuses on edge quality to increase the illusion of depth. You will also see how he uses highlights and the blocking in of gold details.
If you havenβt seen the first part of the series, click below to view:
We hope you thoroughly enjoy this video!
