November 20th was #ThankYouPatrons Day, and we would like to emphasize how thankful we are for your kind support!
The FAA Collective on Patreon supports The Florence Academy of Art community, and this platform is simply an extension of the rich network of training, working, and teaching artists, and patrons already deeply connected through a mutual love of realism in drawing, sculpture, and painting. We thank you for your patronage and for your thoughtful engagement with the content we are providing.
This week we would like to share with you a video tour of The Florence Academy of Art’s incredible campus in Florence, Italy. Daniel Graves, founder of the Florence Academy of Art, chose Florence as the location for his first school to surround students with some of the greatest artwork in history. Florence is home to incredible monuments, buildings such as the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, and institutions such as the Galleria degli Uffizi and the Galleria dell’Accademia.
The academy itself is housed in a 19th century former customs warehouse just outside of the city center, and a short walk from the Arno River. The 35,000 square foot space was masterfully converted into a bustling campus for teaching and practicing realist art. With soaring ceilings and abundant natural light, the campus has 30 northerly lit studios for drawing, painting, and sculpture, a library, gallery, cafe, offices, and two apartments for visiting artists. The campus hosts the full time program, workshops, exhibitions, and events.
