Today we are hosting a LIVE CHAT to discuss how we talk about race with our kids! We will be joined by Diversty Trainer, Rai King (Wife of Social Activist, Shaun King).
America can no longer ignore the obvious mishandling of black people and black issues after the countless deaths and recent execution of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. This country has a deep systemic history of racism and we believe that much of this starts at home. It is so important that white parents with white children or black children have conversations about race. That they make it a normal conversation. That they talk about priviledge, where it comes from and how to properly use it. It is important that black parents Or parents with black children talk to kids about how their existence may show them things they may not prepared for unless these conversations are had. It’s important that we teach our kids humility and compassion but not leave out how to apply it in very uncomfortable situations.
Today we invite ONLY PATRONS to join the conversation. You will be able to ask Rai direct questions about this topic and get more insight on how to begin and continue to have these conversations so we can leave a better world to our kids.
