Back at the Barnyard is NOTHING like the movie

Boy oh boy has this REAL VERSION taken a very long time. So much effort and work hours. But now it is finally time to discuss and dissect an animated Nickelodeon series that is very seldom talked about (maybe for good reason). Time to finally find out if Back at THE BARNYARD (video reference) is worth revisiting.

Special Thanks to ‪@QuintonReviews‬ for putting a voice to the thoughts and minds of movie reviewers in 2006

My 300 word essay as requested: A show I would love to listen to you talk about for way too long is Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness. It was much like Back at the Barnyard, a follow up TV show to a movie, started on Nickelodeon and ended up on Nicktoons, and it also has a long title with a colon in the middle. It was a pretty standard follow up to the first two movies, following the daily life and adventures of Po as the Dragon Warrior. Kung Fu Panda the movie is a masterpiece and genuinely changed the way I think, Legends of Awesomeness though? It’s a show alright! Not only does every character come back from the movie, but it’s rich with new characters, villains and love interests alike, some of which I think may have made their first appearance in the show before going on to show up in a movie later, which I think is really interesting. The animation is 3D in 2011-2016 so it looks alright, but for sure is missing a lot of the squash and stretch that makes the movies so appealing to watch. There later on went to be two other TV shows based in the franchise, one made by amazon prime in 2018 (Paws of Destiny) and one made by Netflix in 2022 (The Dragon Knight). I haven’t watched the Netflix one, but Paws of Destiny was actually pretty entertaining, it’s a direct follow up to the third movie where Po has to become a sensei to four young pandas, and also his two dads are there running a noodle shop in the panda village together and it’s really cute. This is to say that if you wanted to talk about something well, less talked about, you could do Paws of Fury instead of Legends of Awesomeness, but I think both of them are wacky and funny-bad enough at times to keep you into it, but also both try to establish a lot of lore never mentioned in the movies, which I think is interesting to follow. No pressure, I just had a little time to write this and it sounded fun!
