She was and still is hated on by k-fans. Some even call her ugly. (like, wtf?!) She was also hated bc she is very open with her body sex appeal and just confortable in her own sexuality. Especially by fanboys (after the backlashes from that, she started walking around without a bra on. I LOVE HER!). I personally don't like Kpop in general (Just an ARMY here), but I'm her fan just for how incredible she is. And this song. This song is awesome. South Korea GA is very much misogynistic still. Male fans burned a kpop singer's (Irene from Red Velvet) photos, CDs and cardboard cutouts bc she read a book on feminism. So, yeah....

Aah now the chorus of this song is going to be stuck in my head for ages again πŸ˜‚ she’s part of the girlgroup Mamamoo, and they’re known for their great vocals in particular. They’re the girlgroup I personally most enjoy :) I believe her name is pronounced like h-w-ah-s-ah so like with long a’s. Also Maria is her western/English name, so she is singing to herself
