Past Month Updates
Added 2022-02-15 18:47:59 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I just want to give you a quick update on what we've been working on the past few weeks.
Deck updates
All decks have been updated! (JP1K, ES1K, KO1K, FR1K)
Thanks to everyone who submitted feedback! We've addressed most concerns, but there are some that will require a more significant upgrade to the decks so we're punting those until the next version.
Deck page
Not sure where to get the decks? Don't worry! We've now got a page on the website dedicated to it. https://refold.la/decks
Patreon Debugging
We've had a lot of trouble with the Patreon API and will need to move off of it soon. But, in the meantime, we've created a page to enable you to fix your Patreon account and get access to the various features of the website which include:
- All language decks
- A searchable database of our entire Q&A library
We have many other new free and paid features coming to the website soon!
Spanish Native Support
I want to give a big shoutout to the moderators of the Spanish server for working hard to make the Spanish and Refold Central servers usable for Spanish speakers that don't speak English. They've completely rearranged the servers to make room for these learners.
Ya'll are awesome!
Comments
Thank you! Apologies for the confusion about the date.

2022-02-17 06:03:41 +0000 UTCThere's a pretty good community deck for Mandarin so we've chosen to prioritize languages that don't have good 1K decks available yet.

2022-02-16 16:31:55 +0000 UTCI'm assuming you mean February 12/13. That should be the most recent version (v1.1).

2022-02-16 16:18:35 +0000 UTCI downloaded the Korean deck on the weekend (March 12 or 13). Is that the latest version already? If it's not and I download the deck again, would it affect my stats on Anki?

2022-02-16 02:16:25 +0000 UTCFixed the Ankidroid issue. Apparently, ankidroid doesn't like multiple script tags. Dunno why. Thanks for reporting. I realize I didn't respond directly to you before. Check my comment below for answers to your other questions. Thanks! -Ethan

2022-02-16 02:03:57 +0000 UTCHi there! Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, the filenames need to stay the same or it makes the deployment process much more complicated. We'd need to restructure our download link system. The current version is 2.3. I'm uncertain why the description wouldn't have updated but we've heard reports from ES1K users that they saw the same behavior when they upgraded. It sounds like the changes did apply though. Here's the changelog, though the specifics of some of the card changes have been lost: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fZsmmg8asS7JbwZxGI4KafiZnhNaO2MZLoTE2OK4rOQ/edit?usp=sharing Thanks for the notes about AnkiDroid not working. I'll take a look -Ethan

2022-02-16 01:18:58 +0000 UTCCould you please provide a changelog? I have tried downloading the JP1K again. The downloaded file is named "Refold JP1K Current" which is not very useful. Something like JP1K 2.x.y would be more informative. I opened the deck in Anki and the version info on the landing page remains unchanged "Version 2.0 - Last Update date: October 15, 2021". Now, I can see there is at least one change and that is the Show Reading button for the furigana of the sentences on the backside of the card. There can be issues with the button depending on the Anki version used. - AnkiWeb and AnkiMobile (iOS): no issues with the button or display (sentences break into new lines if space isn't enough) - Anki 2.1.49 (Windows): the button can overlay and hide part of long sentences. - AnkiDroid: The button doesn't work at all (the Show Reading button on the front side does work, though)
