Should I use Patreon as a free gallery?
Added 2023-06-24 00:47:18 +0000 UTCHello! I'm not currently interested in further monetizing my art, but I'm thinking of using Patreon as a public gallery for my art (similar to Itaku or e621.)
There's a few plusses and minuses that come to mind:
- π Patreon is popular; some people can access my art who don't have an Itaku or InkBunny account
- π Some Patreon creators have gotten in trouble for the kinds of things I draw (Pokemon, Digimon, etc.)
- π Patreon's business model is centered around people selling their art; operating a free gallery will not earn Patreon any money, and might be a little rude on my part.
I greatly value your opinions so please share them! I'm completely new to Patreon as a creator and you probably know a lot more than me. Thank you π
