Wow! That’s pretty wild. What a small, weird world!

Red Web

Long time listener of Red Web but finally purchased a membership just to say the investigating officer mentioned, Greg Hagwood, is my mother's cousin. I had no idea he was involved as I only knew him by name and profession and only met him once, but I confirmed with her it is the same man. I lost my mind when I heard his name mentioned!

Emma Lockard

My grandmother was a deputy for the Plumas County Sheriffs department when this investigation was taking place and had to stay overnight to help secure the scene. My mom says she remembers how tragic it was, especially with how small the community was a the time. The "unsolved" portion definitely was a combination of symptoms of where incompetence happens because no one expects something like this to have happened to their town, and especially due to the law enforcement in place at the time there (or as my mom put it, them being no better than the 3 stooges trying to get it solved) It's also a place where its easy to go out and get lost in the woods, literally! Perfect cover to get away with it and never be seen again

Hey Fredo I want say that regarding firearms I agree with you. And one of the few reasons why I have one is because I was trained to handle them in the Marines. I taught my wife how to use them with a couple of veterans who taught their wives the same. There was a time when I knew I wasn't doing well mentally and I locked it up and gave my wife my key to the lockbox.

True crime mysteries are always a good one, just wondering if this one takes a turn like longlegs and we see a ghost or ghoul pop up in the theories

I just heard this on another podcast a month or so ago and was so intrigued by the mystery. Excited to hear it.

Zach, Babyhands.

Gives me “Sleepaway Camp” movie vibes. BTW, those would be great Movie Club movies!
